NOT ONE, FOUR CONGRESSIONAL CONTESTS FILED IN FLA!!

Hey everyone! This opportunity has come very fast...so while we push this out to all our groups and blogs, (you are receiveing this before we release it later tonight to the MSM), let's make sure to contact Rep. Rush Holt, and thank him for all his hard work on election reform, for proposing a "voter-verified paper ballot", and for letting America know, that these candidates are contesting their races here in Florida, as well as Dist.13. Way to go Rush! Thank you! Don't forget to call:

MEDIA ALERT

ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

ANNOUNCEMENT ON CONTESTED FLORIDA ELECTIONS

On January 4, 2007, Congressman Rush Holt will address the issue of the outstanding election contests on the floor of the House of Representatives. Congressman Holt will point out that the seating of the new Congress does not indicate that the House has decided the elections which are being contested before it pursuant to 2 USC § 381 et seq., the Federal Contested Elections Act.

Congressman Holt is expected to call for bipartisan support for the investigation into the wide-spread problems of under-votes and over-votes in precincts throughout Florida and for election law reforms to ensure that criteria are established to guarantee fair and verifiable elections in the future so that our country remains a representative democracy where our leaders are actually elected by the voters instead of possibly being elected by machine error or illegal manipulation of the vote count. For more information on Congressman Holt’s position on this important issue, please contact Matt Dennis at 202-225-5801.

The results of four of Florida’s Congressional elections are being contested before the House of Representatives, and five Congressional elections are being contested in Florida state court. John Russell is contesting the results of the 2006 General Election for U.S. Representative for District 5 of the State of Florida and the election of Ginny Brown-Waite. Frank Gonzalez is contesting the results of the election for U.S. Rep. for District 21 of Florida and the election of Lincoln Diaz-Balart. Clint Curtis is contesting the results of the election for U.S. Rep. for District 24 of Florida and the election of Tom Feeney. Mr. Russell, Mr. Gonzalez, and Mr. Curtis are represented by Mark A. Adams, Esquire of Tampa, and they are also contesting these elections in Florida state court. Mr. Curtis is also represented before Congress by Cynthia Butler, Esquire of Washington D.C. Gus Bilirakis’ election in District 9 is also contested in Florida state court.

Christine Jennings is contesting the results of the election for U.S. Rep. for District 13 of Florida before the House of Representatives and in Florida state court. For more information regarding Ms. Jennings’ contests, please contact Coffey and Wright at 305-XXXXXXXXX.( POSTER EDITED & REMOVED ##)

6. Why haven't candidates in other states with documented irregularities filed challenges??
It was documented that Kilroy got the majority of legal voters votes in her Congressional race, and that there were
large amounts of irregularities and malfeasance/misfeasance of officials
why didn't she file??

same for Congressional district 7 in New Jersey that had large numbers of disappearing votes and undervotes like in Sarasota.

and about 10 more races that I'm aware of with evidence of major manipulation.

15. Not all races worthy of inspection were close
Curtis and Feeney (FL-24) were running about even in pre-election polls but Feeney's supposed margin of victory is about 18%, as I recall.

19. But of course we can't trust the polls.
We have these relentless Reluctant Republican Responders.

I'll admit that 18% sounds a l ittle high, but hey the machines must be right. Look at how well they print out our bank statements.

Oh wait, scratch that. I forgot there's no paper or verification when you vote.

I suggest if we are going to have machines counting our votes in secret, we should run machines for office.

Of course some would argue we're already doing that.

16. Regarding contact info
The author of the press release is Marty Ward, Clint Curtis' campaign manager, so her contact info (email and phone) is available at these two websites:
http://www.clintcurtis.com/
http://clint-curtis.blogspot.com/

I called her and she confirmed that contests in the House have been filed by four candidates: Jennings, Curtis, Russell and Gonzalez.

She also told me that they would like people to call their representatives (and not to call Rep. Holt). My representative is one of the contested winners so I don't think I'll call mine but I'll pass it along so others can call theirs.

30. Survey of voters in Volusia indicates official list of who voted in Volusia inaccurate
A precinct survey of voters regarding who voted and who didn't had large discrepiencies with the
official Volusia county voter file listing who voted.
This is a rather interesting state of affairs.
If the county says people who didn't vote did in fact vote, how did those votes happen?

And for Dem voters who said they voted but who aren't on the list of voters whose votes were counted,
what happened to their votes?

33. Email from Christine Jennings, Dist #13, Florida
This Thursday, my opponent will be sworn in as the representative for Florida's 13th District, in what I believe is an important, but temporary, measure to ensure that our district has representation in Washington while our challenge to the election results continues. But before that happens, Congressman Rush Holt of New Jersey will stand on the House floor and confirm for the record that this step will not in any way impede the important investigation we believe is critical to restoring the confidence every American voter should be able to have in our voting system.
