www.CountAllVotes.com The video was produced by the Turkel Group of Coconut Grove, Florida. The Florida Voters Coalition (FVC) launched a viral video campaign today throughout Florida and the nation to generate support for Governor Crist’s Paper Ballot plan to reform Florida’s voting systems.
“Floridians are fed-up with being a national laughingstock,” said Kindra Muntz, President, Sarasota Alliance for Fair Elections (SAFE). “Now is the time for the legislature to pass a clean bill – free from political baggage – and implement Governor Crist’s Paper Ballot voting system reform – fully effective for the 2008 Presidential election.”
“This project is designed to add muscle to the governor’s plan to replace the paperless DRE Voting Machines with a more reliable optical scan system that will also provide a re-countable paper ballot,” said Howard Simon, Executive Director of the ACLU of Florida. “It is past time for Floridians to be confident that their vote will not be lost or uncounted, and everyone feels comfortable casting their vote and not disappearing.”
“FVC applauds the Governor and members of the legislature working hard to make this happen,” said Dan McCrea, Co-Founder of the Florida Voters Coalition. “You Go, Governor Crist! Don’t stop working for Florida’s voters. Passing a clean bill, funded by federal HAVA dollars or state funds will need strong leadership right through the end of session. Don’t back down at the EAC and don’t back down in the capitol. Florida and far beyond are depending on you.”
