Gregoire back ahead of Republican Dino Rossi. Connection to Kerry/Bush?!
From Seattle Times: The unexpectedly large batch of outstanding ballots — nearly double what the county projected just three days earlier — helped push Gregoire back ahead of Republican Dino Rossi.

If Washington State counted twice the number of ballots it expected to count, doesn't that mean that Ohio may also have an unexpected large number of ballots yet to be counted.
A contributing factor to the lead is that the Democrats were calling provisional ballot casters who failed to sign it, correct the ballot. This makes me even madder that Kerry bailed out. If there was extra ballots in Washington, why no in Ohio?!

1. I'm wary of agreeing with you...
I'm not sure about that. I'm sure that there might be, at absolute best, a few thousand extra ballots in Ohio. But out of that 150,000 or whatever it was, I doubt theres enough to make a difference there.

But I say that only speculatively. I'm more curious as to how many ballots were found in Washington, how they were unaccounted for, why they were anaccounted for, etc, etc.

I don't think one can make any sort of educated speculation without knowing more specifics, first.

You live in a "black/Democratic" precinct, you are Black, and repugs challenge you. Mmmmmm chances are you probably did not vote for Bush.

I could be wrong, but even if I was going to vote for Bush, after Bush's storm troopers challenge my vote for being Black, I, IMHO, would vote for Kerry.

3. Thing is that Washington was TRYING to COUNT provisionals
Ohio is trying not to.

Seems like a violation of equal protection to me.

5. Again guys, it's not JUST the provisionals in Ohio.
It is the spoiled ballots as well.

7. It Is VERY Motivating To Democracy, that...
...everywhere there is a recount, Democrats pull ahead!
Here in San Diego, California, against two--mind you, TWO Republican candidates for Mayor, (one is the incumbant, Mayor Dick Murphy) a scruffy-looking, FEMALE, write-in candidate, Councilwoman, Donna Frye--DEMOCRAT--and wife of legendary Skip Frye is ahead in a predominently Republican district--and BOTH Republicans are suing to stop the 30,000 Provisional, write-in, and absentee ballots, but were struck down Monday.
It's a real war down here in San Diego where capitalist elitists clash with labor unionists who are backing Frye.
Clearly, Democrats all over the country, and at every level of government, are being shammed by Republicans, and Republican Elitists with booko-bucks!
I guess they don't want to see neo-slavery abolished anywhere in the United States, do they?

6. Explanation of balloto situation in Seattle.....
Here's a link to the article that explains more details about this situation.

The democrats won the lawsuit, and I personally know people who were going around over the weekend knocking on voter's doors to get them to sign their ballots.

The connection that Dino Rossi has to Bush is that he has a dog named "dubya." You figure it out.

8. The math for Kerry to win Ohio is this:
If Kerry is down 136,000, he needs to net a gain of (lets' say) 140,000 votes.
To do this, he needs to win a good 80% of whatever is left to count.
Assume there are 150,000 provisionals and 90,000 "undervotes".
Of those, let's say 80% are good, leaving 240,000 total votes.
If Kerry wins 80% of the 240k, he gets 192k and Bush 48k.
So Bush's margin goes up from 136 to 184k, but Kerry got 192k to overtake him.
So you can see how one has to have great faith that the majority of uncounted ballots left are overwhelmingly for Kerry for him to win.
You can see why he conceded.

11. We'll see how close they are when they are done counting...
Then we'll recount counties that have a paper trail and pick up more votes. The important thing is that we GET the recount.

10. Rossi was demanding Gregoire conceded for the good of the
state just a few days ago. I wonder if Rossi will follow his own advice and concede now?
As long as it is for the good of the state.
