Warren County News - E-mails released Monday show lockdown pre-planned
No changes in final Warren Co. vote count

An additional 2,200 votes were added to the 93,321 that were tallied on Election Day, putting voter turnout at 76.3 percent. Most of the new votes were from provisional ballots, but about 600 of them were late-arriving absentee ballots, according to elections board Director Susan Johnson.

Warren County has drawn national attention for its election night problems, from three-hour-plus lines at the polls to locking down the administration building during the vote count because of terrorism concerns.

The Ohio Secretary of State's Office wasn't aware of another Ohio county taking that measure. Federal and local homeland security officials say they didn't know of an increased threat in Warren County.
---<snip>

<snip>---
County Commissioner Pat South has said the decision to lock the doors election night was made during an Oct. 28 closed-door meeting (the Thursday before Election Day). But in e-mailed memos dated Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 - released Monday after an Enquirer public records request - other county officials were already detailing the security measures, down to the wording of signs that would be posted on the locked doors.

1. So their security measures
were signs, yet all of the schools were in session that day, the Board of Education was not warned, the color code system was not used to warn citizens, people were allowed to vote in the BoE and in many precincts within 300 yards of the BoE and I walked into the BoE without even a second look. Those must have been some interesting signs!

2. Sometimes the most obvious signs
are the least obvious. Are you sure you didn't see the sign that said: "Warning, vote fraud in progress, for your safety, please do not enter".

3. The question is what happened (a poll perhaps) or who did they have
contact with on the 25th & 26th. Blackwell?

4. What page was this story on?
Are you going to the Coryville library tomorrow night?

5. Apparently they still use punch cards
Do we know how many spoiled cards there were? Are there lots of Democrats with double-punched ballots?

7. It was on an interior page at the top of the local section
I'm guessing it was C2

I was thinking about going to the Corryville Library not because I have anything to tell, but because I hoped to find someone with a compelling story to tell, to encourage them to write a Your Voices column for the Enquirer.

Especially after Bronson's BS column about Holy Name polling place in Mt. Auburn.

compared to Howard Wilkinson's take on the same incident:

9. I was talking to another Dem challenger
last night. While she was challenging the Rep challenger called the police on her and claimed she was stuffing the ballot box and not letting people vote. All lies of course. The police came and cleared her because all of the poll workers vouched for her, including the Rep precinct judge, but then around 5:30 she called the police again claiming another lie. She will be there tonight. It is an unbelievable story. The Dem challenger is military, too. SO much for supporting our troops!

6. There were no changes in final vote tally because they did not
recount the ballots they counted Nov 2 behind closed doors. The ballots they counted in public this week were only provisional and absentee ballots added to the total.
