16. Also, this was coming from a Database
You can tell by several reasons.

1. The numbers are sorted by who is winning (way to hard to do by hand quickly enough). That would be done with a "Select * From tablename ORDER BY votes DESC" in SQL. That would automatically do it for the print out.

2. There just would not be enough time to do it by hand.

3. If this was a spot error in the web page, it would have been the same for every county, but obviously some were wrong and most were not. Therefore, it was wrong in the database.

NOW THE QUESTION IS - WAS THIS COMMING DIRECTLY FROM THE TABULATOR'S DATABASE?

8. Has anyone asked why this happened?
No one to my knowledge has explained this. And no one to my knowledge has explained HOW the SOS website was receiving this info (ie, was it phoned in? was it e-mailed in? was this a direct peek into the central tabulators of every county in the state?) That's really important info to know.

13. That's exactly it!
If there's no data entry... and the numbers come into the tabulator and from there to the website as a machine counts the punchcards or ballots then that could be a key point to know!

11. I saw results of election before ballots counted
I also saw ballot numbers posted on website before the POLLS Opened. I was reading John Kerry's blog in the early morning of Nov. 2 when someone posted the link . It was dismissed as a bogus website but now I wonder.

Here is the cache of one links

17. To clarify: Do you know the time that the cache "snapshop" was taken?
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 02:07 AM by Lil
This is interesting. It says:

"Below is a cache of http://serweb.sos.state.oh.us/Views.aspx?Section=39. It's a snapshot of the page taken as our search engine crawled the Web. The web site itself may have changed."

{this info was in the crawl)

22. Numbers on website changed
I viewed the website around 12:30 am PT on Nov. 2. Bush was ahead of Kerry . I posted the ballot numbers on Kerry's blog. After several bloggers stated the website was a hoax I did not return . Many of the bloggers were in disbelief as to how Bush was ahead of Kerry when the POLLS were not even open yet.

However, when I visited the website several times during the same morning the ballot totals were never the same. So the cache of the website could have been taken later in the day. Ohio State Elections website is using multiple URLs.
