There's Much to be "positive about. Think about all THIS!......
Edited on Fri Nov-26-04 08:32 PM by KoKo01
that's been accomplished!

We have Nader recounting New Hampshire (establishing a baseline) in a state that's small where small shifts in votes can be put under a microscope to compare witht he other efforts.

We have Cobb/Baradnik in Ohio who can use what they find to build on what Nader found in New Hampshire for a "paper or paperless or Opti-Scan trail." And, we have "voting rights organizations and media critics holding Ohio hearings for the "voters disenfranchised" from the process.

We have Bev Harris and BBV calling on the "FOIA" to gain access to all the voting records in states and her "finds in the dumpster and trashcans in Volusia, FLA. She has a film crew from GB on the trail with her filming a documentary which in the first snip online seems to be a blockbuster in the making.

We have individual researchers parsing over voter tallies and "Precinct Actual Vote Ratio's" to "Exit Poll" information both by DU'ers and University Professors...and all are coming up with incredible differences leading to more investigation.

We have John Kerry and Jesse Jackson joining into the "Fray" with lawyers and demonstrations and hearings. And, offering possibly more support.

The GAO (Government Accounting Office) has agreed to a "partial audit" of votes leaving the rest up to the states.

Six House Members have called for the GAO review and many more are probably "behind the scenes" in support. (can't verify that one, but hope it's true considering how many of us faxed and phoned them asking them all to get onboard.)

We have a group of activists dedicated to sending MSM and anyone with influence the latest parsing of all voter irregularities and statistics from exit polls and final turnout...plus incidents of voter intimidation and deception.

I think I've forgotten something here, but considering what many of us here remember after "Selection 2000" when our ONLY HOPE was the "Media Consortium Report" which was overshadowed by 9/11 Attack...then I'd say we are in far better shape right now, with more troops to attack than we were back then, when most of us were in "shellshock" waiting for the "Supremes" to honor our Constitution...which in the end, they trashed by installing an "Emperor/Dictator" who would change our country for decades.

At least now, we have in place a "system" who can fight back and more swiftly than anyone would have imagined four years ago.

I think we can all be proud of "La/Le/Nous Resistance." (pardon my French tense) It's not perfect...it's young and struggling but IT'S THERE and BUILDING....

Just My 2 cents...........

1. Thanks for
attempting to cheer us up!:) And I'm not trying to be a smart *** either. It IS important to stop and recognize the very real things that have been accomplished by some very hard working DU members. Thanks to everyone involved, and please don't give up.

2. Thank you
I get tired of the negativity. I don't expect the election to be turned over but I hope if there is fraud and election rigging that we will know for sure. That is my biggest hope and I am patient. I just don't want to see the activist and all involved through up their hands and give up. At least not until we know the truth.

8. Those are my thoughts, too, Geek_Girl.
I get tired of the negativity, too. I do feel strongly, however, that this election was stolen away from John Kerry -- I don't think anything will ever convince me otherwise. The most I'm hoping for is that it will be discovered exactly how the votes were manipulated & the money trails will be traced out. The least I'm hoping for is that there will be legislation for federal guidelines for elections & that paper trails will be mandatory for e-machines.

24. Negativity breeds more "negativity" and I'm guilty of that too..
We've been through so much..it's hard not to be angry but pulling ourselves back and looking at what we're up against...and you'd say..OMG...we've got decades going back to Richard Nixon...and we've accomplished THIS in only four short years???

Remember there were only a "handful" defending Clinton against the "Hunting of the Presidency." AND...our OWN PARTY DIDN'T DEFEND HIM..on the cables...

It was only Salon Mag...and a few other independent magazine writers who railed against the RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY who Hunted Clinton from the day he took the oath for the Presidency.

Did Clinton make HUGE MISTAKES? YOU BET! But he NEVER KILLED THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS AND MADE A MESS OF TWO COUNTRIES because of MONICA...

That all belongs to the NEOCON/CHIMPISTAS FIGHTING THE COLD WAR II for their OWN PROFIT...

Clinton wasn't perfect ...but OMG...look at this!!

3. A Wonderful Opimism, But..
You have expressed a wonderful optimism, and all of the facts you have cited should give us hope.

I would like nothing else than a quick and decisive repudiation of the (by far) filthiest person and most degenerate individual to serve as an elected representative in our country, much less as President of the United States, but I fear that it will take longer to get rid of the AWOL cowardly cokehead commander-in-thief, George Walker Bushitler...

We will ultimately win, but I am beginning to fear the battle will be long and ugly. Perhaps your optimism will help us during the challenging times ahead.

look at how our opposition fights against us with the "silence" then you know that they are "re-assessing" the situation.

I think we forget where we are today, compared to where we were and don't see how far we've come.

We won't overtun this election, but we can wound our oppressor in a way that might be bigger than all the investigations and leaks which have come to nothing, because of their suppression, could never do.

That's my hope...

5. Aw Gee.
I was hoping we could overturn the election. Bush needs to concede for once in his life. He needs to be exposed as a fraud. Why does the wrong always the win?:(

Kerry would have been a cool president, but I guess cleaning up Bush's mess and a GOP controlled House and Senate wouldn't have made things easier.

6. We have faced challenges, as a people, before.
We will face this one as well.

Dear Leader and his mob must face the consequences of his and their actions. Any student of history will tell you that they will.

At the present rate, it will not be all that long from now.

This will not be a Thousand Year Reich. The Austrian Corporal succeeded because, at least for a while, all Germans enjoyed a good economy. From day 2 of this chump, nothing of the like has happened. It has been a slow downward spiral. It will accelerate.

Look at the polls: already the erosion begins. A lie like this administration cannot and will not sustain itself, once the adrenaline rush of the campaign is over. Significent numbers of people will slowly come back to a reasonable facsimile of reality, at least as close as they are capable.

They are hoisting themselves on their own petard, those repukes.

- I do understand, why the leaders are being diffident about overturning the election, but not you Duers. I can scarcely see how the election can fail to be overturned, the way things are progressing. On the other hand, maybe KoKo01 is one of the leaders, or close to them.

Anyway, I second ClassWarrior's computation (I'd meant to write something on the same lines): "Your 2 cents is worth a million bucks, KoKo".

9. A great Thanksgiving Reminder!
Thank you Koko01- this is a great reminder for all of us of how far we've come! Yes we have a long way to go- but we can do this and we will. It is building- not only here, but on many other boards, blogs, sites, etc. and thanks to us, and the thousands (maybe more) of us out there who will NOT LET THIS GET BURIED -- it will continue to build. It has no choice!!

Here's an interesting fact---

On November 3rd, knowing immediately that something had happened, I did a Google search for 2004 election fraud. There were no links that morning (at 5am). Today there are 2,080,000!!! That's pretty amazing considering MSM has been ignoring us for the most part!

Your "2 cents" Koko was worth millions!

14. Thank you KoKo01 for a great post, it's a good thing to sometimes just
stop and think about all we've accomplished in such a short time.
I know that we still have a ways to go, because even if Kerry isn't inaugurated, the fraud must still be exposed, democracy itself is in danger. That being said, even after it all comes out, there is a much bigger picture that has to be looked at. After this -however it ends people may start to realize they've been asleep for far too long. They may start to get more involved, and be more critical of what they see on the MSM, they may become more involved politically. It wasn't until last week that I found out that many, many elected positions are held by repubs just because the elections are uncontested. Thats ridiculous.
What I'm trying to say is that this may be a new age of Enlightenment for the US.
I say this because although I am not a religious person, I do believe in God, and I believe that all things happen for a reason -even if we can't see it at the time. I think "we the people" have been coasting for so long we forgot that democracy is something precious, something that must be fed by critical thinking and debate and not just mere acceptance of whatever is on the boob tube, something thousands of people around the world die for daily, and something we take for granted.
I think that a lot of good is going to come out of this and that we are in the process of making history.
Someday I will tell my children about this, about us, and I will be proud to say I was a part of it.
So I say lets get busy making history...we have long to go before we sleep!!

Edited on Sat Nov-27-04 06:40 PM by KoKo01
and how far we've come we lose our perspective and get taken over by dispair and those who want to tell us ....we've accomplished NOTHING..

We have to keep optimism alive. And what we've accomplished speaks for itself and we did it WITHOUT THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA...becaus THEY ..are the PROBLEM....it comes back over and over again that Millions the World Over Have Protested Bush/Cheney/PNAC/RW Armaggedonist Policies...and the media showed the Chimp with Pom Pom's and banners flying 24/7 for months before the "2nd Selection" and no matter how many polls we answered for CNN/MSNBC/FOX ..THEY DID NOT LISTEN TO US.

Until we TAKE BACK THE MEDIA...WE ARE OUR OWN MEDIA!

Sorry for the shouting caps...but I get crazy over the MEDIA!

44. The odd silence of late is giving way to more noise
about irregularities, voter intimidation, suppressing the vote, and an investigation of election fraud. Rev. Jesse Jackson spoke out on Sunday. Michael Moore will be on The Tonight Show tonight (11/29/04). There are more and more articles in the newspapers, even Newsweek had an article on the subject (I read on another DU thread). Things are looking up.
