2. MM has to be up to something.
To sit there in a suit, and on top of that, looking showered and groomed? He's got something in mind. That is, I hope that's the case.

5. I love Mike, but he's over the top here.
Mike has the right to do whatever he wants to do with his image. There has been a lot of people complaining about his grunge image and how it makes him appear to be a bad person. Is that wrong? YES! But image is the way it is folks. I think it's unfair to slam Mike for betraying you just because he wore a suit and shaved. He's still Mike. Maybe he realized that hard core obstinence isn't the way to get through to people, but to convince them that he is just a real person, and what he has to say is real too.

10. he also alluded to doing it sarcastically
He said: I figured, if I can't beat em, might as well look like them.
I think he meant it as a sarcastic gesture, but because he was so uncomfortable, it didn't come off that way in practice.

7. My post last night on Moore on Leno....I didn't see it as negative....
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 01:51 AM by Gloria
I had read all the negative comments before watching last night
and my reaction was....not negative.

First of all, he pulled a Bill Clinton, explaining how he and Jay would do well (tax-wise) under Bush because of all the money they made. (But, as I recall...he's donated most of the $$ from F911, if I'm not mistaken. The dumbasses don't know that, yet.)

He read a moving letter from a guy who was going to go to Iraq that was pretty ambivalent....but which underscored the sad plight of many of our soldiers in a way you won't get on the "news." He "plugged" his book, but it was only in passing, and in the context of that letter he read.

He talked about the "story" of the GOP which was, in my opinion, spot on. He also said it really didn't have anything to do with what actually was going on...in terms of our safety, etc. He also was accurate in saying that if you asked what the Democratic story was, you'd have to fish around a bit....

And, at one point, Leno made some comment about dressing and he said he was doing it for this one time....I got the feeling that whole suit thing was part of the opening joke about how he would do well with Bush's tax cuts. It was a finger in the eye at the dumbasses who don't get what Bush is doing to them.

And, he wasn't going to mention fraud or discuss the recounts because there is something afoot and he's not going to mess it up. He's not part of all the legal stuff and he is wisely...and perhaps under advice...NOT TO GO THERE. So, he hit the Bush tax giveaways, brought up the Iraq war via the soldiers, and mocked the GOP "story."

Not bad for one night.

And then Bruce Hornsby came on, and I was even happier.

21. Typical Michael Moore
One thing that I have found is that many people here take themselves and others too seriously. Michael Moore either was kidnapped by the CIA and injected with a brain implant, he fell victim to alien body snatchers and is now a pod person, or....

He just made a fool of the freeper repukes and they were too dumb to catch on. He said "if you can't beat them, you might as well look like them." I was rolling.

He mocked the fact that they voted to lower his taxes and bought the Bush story on terror. He said Bush won because he "got more votes." He did not say how he got those votes. Let us not forget all of the video and testimony "evidence" that he gathered on Nov 2.

Michael Moore is an activist that understands how to use satire and comedy to advance his cause. He slammed the freeps and most of them did not even know it. It was great.

Go to his website and read what is posted there.

Go to his site--there are some pictures showing how about 5000 Ottawans "greeted" his royal self.

12. I keep getting the feeling that MM is "purifying" himself
to ready for the next fight.

Remember how JJ said a few days on CNN before he came out in Ohio that he believed Bush won fair and square?

It is much more convincing if you first are a "non-believer" who was convinced only by the evidence.

13. Michael Moore
After all these years that I have watched MM, I have NEVER seen MM in a suit! I think this is a signal to us that he is saying/acting/looking like this because it is HIS CONPIRACY FOR THE MEDIA!! What he is saying/doing/not saying is a heads up to us that what he is doing or not saying is NOT HIM!! GET IT???

16. you may be right
He may really be playing a mock role: that of the non-thinking conformist...i.e. a typical American (no offence intended!). But...that doesn't perfectly explain why he's been quite silent on the election issues on his own web site. I'm still up in the air on his take on the whole thing, and his strategy. But I'm certain he hasn't deserted us.

20. He hasn't been quite quiet on his site.
He lists news articles on the front page, which flow into another link at his site, and he has had articles about voter fraud. Although there are none on his front page right now, there have been.

So if he is just ignoring it, and saying that Bush actually won, why is he posting them?

Here's the link to his news page. There are several articles about the election.

17. MM was totally MM on Leno.
He was his normal sarcastic self. The suit, the whole act, all to say 'the hell with you *, I'm not going away, I'm staying and fighting.' I was roaring with laughter. Could not believe that people on this board didn't 'get' MM on Leno. Lucky for me, I taped the show, read the board first, so I could really watch for what people on here were saying. Michael has not changed one bit. He was dripping with sarcasm the entire time. I wish I could remember some of the lines, but it's way past bedtime and I can't think straight.
Michael Moore has not changed. He's not giving up. He's not going away. In other words, he's gonna become *'s nightmare all over again.

24. A few things about Michael Moore...

1. He just finished his "Slacker" tour a few weeks ago where he visited sixty-something cities in thirty-something days -- Good Night! I can't even imagine how physically EXHAUSTING that was. I take a trip to Atlanta and I need a long nap.

2. He took the BushCo Selection just as hard as we all did - meaning that he must have been/still be depressed.

3. Just because a guy wears a suit for once and FINALLY shaves his face doesn't mean that he is a sellout or a Republican! Jeepers! I for one am sooooo glad that he cleaned up a little.

4. He is going through an IRS audit - so I imagine that he is a little stressed out and that he has been a little preoccupied.

I just despise the way people are so quick to turn on such a brilliantly talented outspoken man who has proven himself a thousand times over.

Democrats really do tend to eat their own. Let's all stop it!

25. Moore is entitled to do what he wants, and Malloy is out of line
btw, I sure a short clip of Moore, and if anyone can't see Moore is totally punking the media, will it's time to get the blinders off.

I can't hardly wait to see what Moore's got up his new shiny sleeves!

:D
