I believe I don't care if the results of the 2004 election are overturned. (Of course, if that happened, it would make one heck of a Yule gift.)
We are not, however, fighting for only one election or one office. We are fighting to ensure that this country has had and will continue to have free and fair elections. We are fighting for democracy.
If there was fraud -- and I honestly feel there was -- I want those who would prepetrate such crimes to be brought to justice. We must preserve and protect our nation. Those who would attack us from the inside must be provided no more courtesy than those who would attack us from the outside.

I DO care if it is overturned. I want it soooooo friggin badly.
But totally agree on the rest, the fight does not in any way depend on that alone...

Critics of a recount seem to forget PRINCIPLES -- who cares if the results are overturned; let's find out who won and by how much and if there were problems with the voting machinery that need to be fixed before future elections! To some people, results seem to be all that matter.

7. Could somebody start a thread on this. I'm a newbie. |
|
First of all I completely agree with what you are saying. It is beyond hypocritical that we are all over the Ukraine election and its lack of transparency. How ironic. Now to my subject matter. If this is a duplicate please excuse, otherwise could somebody start a thread on the following. I just got a e-mail from D L Dewey. (columnist and author) I don't know if you have heard of him but I strongly encourage everyone to check out his December 1st column re the Ohio voting "irregularities" and the media freeze out" His web site is DLDEWEY@aol.com. I found the article to be thorough, credible and encouraging. I would love to hear what others think.

they perpetrated fraud in 2000 and are not only walking the streets free but have also obtained more power than ever.
Democrats are part of the problem. They are not even going to contest Bush's nomination of Gonzales, a man who favors torture and crimes against humanity, do you think they'll contest a Presidential election? Keep dreaming.

13. They are walking the streets tracking their dirty little red foot prints |
|
and red fingerprints all over the place, and we are not going to let this continue.
It is up to us as the people. No one else. We must make our elected officials accountable, and that is that!

I will march if Kerry actually wins and no real voting reform is enacted. I will march if Bush is inaugurated.
I will march if he attacks another country.
I will march if he makes it another 4 more years.
I will march if he stages a fake terrorist attact on his own people. (as long as I'm not killed in it)
Prior to this election I had only ever marched in 1 protest.
As it stands now, I will strap my snare drum on every day and take to the streets and shout untill this country is set back on the path to government of, for, and by the people.

It's time to march. Stop lying down. Get your whistle, your drum, your trumpet, your bucket and start making noise. If we're going to go down, we're going down loudly.

No matter what happens, Bush will always get HIS way. He and the GOP control everything from the House, Senate, Supreme Court to the media. Everytime he screws up, he will get a free pass. Cheating is wrong, but no one cares. Anyway, you can say goodbye to democracy cause it's going to be more of the same the next 4 years. We are the laughing stock of the rest of the world. It's unfortunate.

This election was a joke compounded on the joke of 2000.
We need to overturn this thing, just as they are doing in the Ukraine right now.
The exit polls WERE NOT WRONG. Kerry won this election.
REVOLT! REVOTE!

Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 12:31 AM by politicasista
time is running out. There is way too much Kerry bashing here cause he "doesn't have our backs as promised." Plus, he is getting hated on for not defeating the WORST president ever. Had he won (fairly) things would be different, everybody would be happy. Bush already has his cabinet set, and the inaguaraion activities have already been arranged.

24. Let's take it in stages |
|
My goals regarding this fight to verify the vote are -- in the order of priortiy:
1) To overturn Ohio and put Kerry in the white house now
if that fails then 2) I want a scandal that exposes the GOP and the shrub for rigging the election
and at the very least 3) I want to fix the voting system so that it is transperant and verifiable and the GOPers can never again steal another election
Anybody with me on this?
