1. Hate to say it,
I know others disagree, but the only graphic that I don't think would be mocked horrifically by the right wing is the thumb. The rest look really silly to me as a statement against the robbing of democracy.

But we all have our preferences!

:)

4. I'm actually starting to lean towards #2 or #4
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 08:16 PM by AmyCrat
being I designed them, it's hard to have a preference LOL

But I'm leaning towards just the hand or the fingerprint.

6. I like the RED-HANDED one.
The hand is up which really says STOP this fraud.

Red-handed implies the theft of election and democracy.

STOP THIEF
Caught Red-Handed
The "X" Box is an important element I think

You get it right away
No need for discussion

<The thumb print is a nice graphic but more confusing....>

9. The Fingerprint Rocks!
It says so much with so little!

fingerprints-crime

red-red handed

red-red states-Rethuglicans

the idea that criminals leave evidence-aka fingerprints

Gotta go with the fingerprint!

Thanks AmyCrat!

10. Here is my take
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 08:34 PM by neohippie
1. The feet look like baby feet and it gives me a pro-life image

2. The red hand looks like someone saying stop, so that may be okay for a stop fraud message, and the red handedness thing.

3. The hand an foot is just confusing. I think Twister!

4.The fingerprint looks criminal or identifying either one works for the fraud message. It is probably the most visually appealing to me.

12. The fingerprints in my opinion are confusing, it makes people think we are
trying to force them to fingerprint in order to vote. PEOPLE HATE THAT, dem and repub alike.

14. good point
I personally think that the F word is just too much one nation under denial to accept off the bat. I believe we need to approach the issue as a reform issue, because of lack of faith in the current system due to it's many documented problems, a lack of an ability to accurately store and recount a ballot, etc...

15. Problem with the hands and feet
is it's not simple. It's almost too many concepts in one logo. The hand, or the feet, or the thumbprint works better from a design/message standpoint.

16. Go with the Finger print.
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 08:41 PM by samfish
The hand print one is, technically speaking from a designer's standpoint, the best. It's the least intrusive. The feet one's don't make any sense. The hand one makes the most sense. The finger print one is the most effective, though.
Although, I didn't get any of them at first until they were explained.

Maybe if you made the hand overrun with finger print marks? The finger print is more effective and sinister, too. It makes it SEEM like theres a crime at the scene and instantly tells people that something bad happened. The hand (and feet) don't convey though, despite the fact that the hand is more obvious.

So I'd really just go with the finger print one. It's more indicative of a crime, and is more likely to leave people wondering what the crime was, how it happened, rather than thinking that the perpatraitors have been caught.

13. The hands and feet are supposed to symbolic....
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 08:36 PM by jsamuel
(like the orange movement or the white hands movement)

RED HANDS OR FEET!!!

the more simple the better- RED(Repub), FEET(footprints)

they are not feet really, rather footprints (evidence, you know)

Demonize the Red republicans too
If we can prove voter fraud, this will help demonize republicans for years and years to come. The red color will be tainted any time someone brings up the red feet. Like what they did to liberal, lets hit them where it hurts!

This is exactly the kind of thing Dems have sucked at and Repubs have won at. They play mind games much better than the Dems do... BUT NOT ANYMORE!!! We need to learn things like this is what gets our messages across!

17. Right on!
I agree. The fingerprint can mean we are suggesting stop vote fraud by fingerprinting everyone.

Of these logos, I like the red hand best.

I would like to see a redesign of the feet. Just the feet not together, on a black box with an X.
and Don't Tread on Our Vote.

Let them laugh.

18. I just realized the BOX WITH A BIG X (on the RED HANDED logo) says...
clearly that this is about "voting", and using an X implies NO -- THIS IS WRONG. VOTE THIS FRAUD OUT. (as opposed to the one with a check mark, which implies approval)

So now I like the RED-HANDED one even MORE....

21. The whole point of this: UNIFORM WAY FOR PROTESTORS TO SHOW THEMSELVES!
The fingerprint makes no sense with the goal specified.

The foot is silly to many so that may be out.

The hand still upholds this goal and is not silly. I think the hand may be the best option based on the goal specified.

If the goal was to have a neat graphic, the fingerprint would probably be the best. However, it is not.

If not too late:

Here's a link to where you can download the image in formats that can be printed
on t-shirts, flyers, etc.:

http://www.sortor.com/black_box_graphics_text.html

Zip contains file in Illustrator 3 and eps formats that can be re-sized, plus pdf. Original size about right for a t-shirt, or fits on letter-size paper.

Pls feel free to forward!

29. Red Fingerprints Will Rub Libertarian Leaning Types The Wrong Way
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 10:27 PM by cryingshame
Red hand = redhanded.

Also, the fingerprint is visually cluttered. The black ribbon has no immediate meaning and the words going vertically are distracting.

Additionally, the fingerprint allusion to criminality seems more overtly negative- something best avoided.

The Red Hand is simple, concise, effective and immediately understandable.

does anyone else think it's missing something above the text, maybe shift the thumb over the text and make it sideways or something? I tried to do it myself using the current one...but it turned ugly so I stopped.

36. Amycrat, is there a way to upload the hand (or other) as an avatar?
Did you ask the DU mods if they would include them as avatar selections? A lot of people come to this site. It would be good exposure. Besides that, I love that red hand!

And when and how soon can we get our bumper stickers? Carolab had a contact from last night. Or find your own, but I hope we get these out fast!

Do maybe both the hand and the thumbprint.

Square bumper stickers seem most pleasing for these.

I can't wait to plaster one right on my car and I know everyone will want one.

Thanks!!! You do a lot around here.

Works well graphically, and the message is the most clear. It visually reiterate the word stop and conveys the being caught red handed sentiment.

I agree with what was said about the fingerprint possibly being confusing. Like we're advocating fingerprinting voters.

Very nice.

38. The rotated text on the small versions does not work for me
The "election fraud" reads much better in the first 2 works better.

The feet don't make sense.

Red handed, blood on hands - great, thumbprint ... OK
I don't get the feet.
