22. Info on possible vote fraud needed!

Dear DU'ers

My name is Bo Elkjaer. I'm a danish reporter, writing for the second largest newspaper Ekstra Bladet. Check it out at http://www.eb.dk . Yes, we're tabloid, but not the kind of tabloid you have in the US. This year I was awarded the Cavling Award - the danish equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize - along with two colleagues from a competing newspaper. We received the award for our work uncovering the machinations behind the Iraq war. I wrote a white paper on the danish, US and UK governments rhetoric and fabrications on iraqi wmd. A pdf copy of the white paper can be found - in danish - here: http://www.datashopper.dk/~boo/irak/hvidbogen.pdf . It's titled in danish: 'Loegnen om krigen - krigen om loegnen', which basically translates to 'the lie about the war - the war about the lie'.

The reason why I'm writing all this?

I'm currently researching and writing about the irregularities of the US presidential election. In the course of this I'm trying to gather as much information as possible about what happened.

I have written several articles on this subject. Not anything that would surprise regular readers of DU anyway, but I read the DU regularly and want to tell you, that not all media is silent on this issue. I first wrote about this a couple of days after the election after I found the Gahanna 1B ghost votes in the lists.

All these things you talk about should be gathered and put together systematically. All holes need to be filled. I read Wayne Madsen's articles. The vote padding would leave "fingerprints" on the election results - these "fingerprints" would stick out probably in the form of discrepancies from exit polls etc etc.

This all sums down to one thing: Facts.

Please, help me! (oh, and your self of course!) Gather the facts. Map them out. The more hard, verifiable facts that can be produced the better.

For example: At what time was Warren County, Ohio, locked down? What was the name of the alleged FBI agent that warned of possible terror attacks?

What other polling places were locked down? Why?

Please feel free to contact me at bo.elkjaer@eb.dk

17. Lots of problems here...
This article from the dldewey website mentions things that just aren't possible. He mentions something about a "screen" in Cuyahoga county... Not possible since they use punchcards. Then in Franklin there is something about a guy pressing Kerry and then vote but not being able to go back to the previous screen. The Franklin county electronic voting machine is less of a screen and more of a plexiglass sheet with buttons. (The Danauer Selectronics model or something like that.) You select all of your votes before you press vote to move on so the story doesn't sound like it applies to the same model machine. Then he mentions a trouble ticket that links to a PDF file on BBV.org's website.... He says this is in Ohio but the file clearly states WA in the addresses at the end. This article seems a little half-baked to me.

8. List of articles on possible votefraud from Ekstra Bladet, Denmark
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 02:44 AM by Danish Reporter
Dear DU'ers.

I have compiled a short list of what I have reported so far, so you can see the direction I'm going in and the numerous holes I still need to fill to cover the story.

Edit: Thank you very much for mails, links, advice! Very good work. Please keep it coming.

Yours
Bo Elkjaer

November 6, 2004: Votefraud in Ohio?

Bush got 4258 votes in a ward with only 638 votes cast

Theres reasonable suspision of votefraud in Ohio. In the ward Gahanna 1-B president Bush stands to receive 4258 votes - out of only 638 cast. Kerry is receiving 260 votes of the 638 cast. The article mentions that Gahanna has 20.130 citizens in voting age and - according to the mayor - 70 percent of those have registered to vote. Yet, the total ballots cast is 20.736 - a discrepansy, that the error in Gahanna 1-B can't account for, even if the voter turnout is 100 percent.

November 16, 2004: Recount in Ohio

David Cobb has announced that the Green Party has collected the fees to file for a recount in Ohio. Several reports have emerged of major problems in Ohio. Gahanna 1-B, but also technical problems, ballots thrown out and targeting of colored voters. Hearings are being held in Ohio after the election.

November 19, 2004: Phony Florida

CHAOS: Bush have received several thousand illegitimate votes

The article is about Michael Houts report from Berkeley U.

November 22, 2004: Machines moved votes

Maskiner flyttede stemmer

Suspicion gathers on the Diebold machines. More on the report from Berkeley, analysis of results from Calhoun, Lafayette and Liberty Counties. Six counties with more votes than voters. The complaint from four election officials.

November 22, 2004: Thousands of votes missing

In Laporte, Indiana, 79.000 registered voters cast only 22.200 votes. It was expected that 65 percent of the voters would vote, so presumably 29.000 votes are missing. Recount in New Hampshire. Members of Congress have asked the GAO to investigate the election. Doubts about results in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina and California.

November 22, 2004: Suspicion of fraud, technical errors and irregularities mar vote count

Up to 260.000 votes plus for Bush, impossible voter counts of 130 percent in wards. Thousands of votes missing in Indiana. Kerry announces to his supporters, that he will keep challenging the administration, no matter what outcome the counting may give in the end.

November 22, 2004: Send to recount

More on Ohio. Mahoning and Mercer showed 25 million negative votes. Ken Blackwell closed doors at midnight and turned away the lines still waiting to vote. Cuyahoga Heights have 131 percent registered voters compared to population.

11. The best summary of irregularities can actually be found...
at wikipedia, in my opinion. Also, nov2truth.com (org?). And I find verifiedvoting.org indispensible. It has a map which shows voting "incidents" by state and even by country!

15. Kick and update
Dear DU'ers

Thank you very much for all the mails. I haven't had time to reply each and everyone - but I read them - and I work on the story. I'll keep posting updates along the way.

Anyone have the photo from election night where someone is loading ballot boxes in the back of a Bush/Cheney marked truck?

I saw the photo that night, but forgot to download it. It might be important.

Yours

Thank you very much for your very useful mails. Tomorrow I'll interview one of the OSCE observers. He was in Ohio. I'll present him with a lot of the information you and DU have gathered. I'll keep you informed, either by mail or via the DU forums.
