1. Clooney'd be all right
Harrison Ford's getting too old, but he would have been ideal 10 years ago.

2. I'm reading it now...
...coincidence? No, not really :)

Just on CH 14, but Cage, no, Hanks, I could see it. Clooney I could also see.

4. Nah. My husband says the only person he can see in the role is
Aidan Quinn. I think I agree, but mostly because I really can't picture anyone in the role.

But definitely not Hanks.

7. John Travolta. The only problem I have with Hanks as Langdon
Is that Hanks can act, and there won't be one place in this film where anyone has to actually act. They need someone who can run and stare lustfully at a much younger attractive redhead. Hanks doesn't look the part, and there won't be enough in this film for him to act his way to credibility in the part, unless Howard puts more into the film than is in the book.

Travolta could be interesting. He can look cool for most of the film, I wouldn't have a lot of trouble believing a woman ten years younger might be interested in him (though I never believed it in the book, either), and if he has to act a little, he can pull it off.

Did anyone ever see him as Abelard (of Abelard & Heloise fame) in "Stealing Heaven"?

Or in "The Unbearable Lightness of Being"?

Or "China Beach"?
