Equilibrium-man what a great flick
Have you seen this? I'd never even heard of it until yesterday. Where have I been? I saw it and loved it. It's 1984 except with emotion instead of thought as the crime. Good stuff, and great action scenes for once that weren't completely repetitive and boring.

1. I thought it was pretty cool too...
The action scenes were Matrix-y, except more thoughtful. If that makes any sense whatsoever. ;-)

2. It makes sense
In my opinion, this movie succeeded where Matrix failed. I never thought very highly of the Matrix movies, I always thought they were pretty stale. But this movie really moved me.

From the lack of responses, I'm guessing I'm not the only one that never heard of this movie. Good to know. DU'ers should see this, it's right up their alley.

3. It's too bad that more people aren't aware of this great film
It's amazing how much the film achieves with such a small budget. The director managed to make a film that looked like a 100 Million without actually spending that much money.

I saw Equilibrium before I heard Bale was going to be the new Batman. Because of the way he nailed the "gun-fu" I was quite pleased with his selection. After seeing him in Equilibrium, I knew he could handle playing Bats.

4. It is too bad
I know what movie I'm going to be recommending to people in the near future. ;)

It is amazing what you can do on a small budget nowadays. All you need is a computer and some digital animation software, and behold, a futuristic city. Cinema is going to become very interesting in the near future as more and more independent films like this pop up that look like Hollywood blockbusters.

5. I concur
Excellent film. Although it's a familiar sort of tale ("Brazil", "1984", etc.), there was enough cool new stuff in it to make it interesting, and Bale was just terrific in it.
