Cheesiest film lines
BBC NEWS
Poll reveals cheesiest film lines

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio's declaration "I'm the king of the world!" in the film Titanic has been voted the cheesiest line in movie history.

Patrick Swayze's famous line in Dirty Dancing - "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" - came second in the survey.

<snip>

The survey of 2,000 film-goers was commissioned by foodmakers Warburtons.

Swayze makes another appearance at four in Ghost, although the cheesy line belongs to co-star Demi Moore. "I love you," Swayze says, to which Moore replies: "Ditto."

Top Gun came fifth for the moment Val Kilmer tells Tom Cruise: "You can be my wingman any time."

1. I'd nominate anything from "Roadhouse"
Or half the dialogue (ok, all of the dialogue) from "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls."

7. I have to confess that I liked "The Gift"
by Sam Raimi. And Keanu Reeves was actually OK as the wife-beater psycho.

8. Okay?
He was pretty damn good in that. I'm still shaking my head, wondering if they had an acting double for him.

I guess he plays a dumbass redneck better than he plays a, well, anything else. And I'm a dumbass redneck, so I know.

12. You have got to be kidding...
He looked like a GAP model who was 'slumming it' in the south.

Now, the redneck husband in Sling Blade - that's some good shitkicker right thar. Subtle and understated, but pretty damn scary.

13. Don't know if anyone's seen
the TV version of the Shining... it's actually not that bad, but there's a thing that Jack and Danny have where Jack says "kissin' kissin'", and blows a kiss, to which Danny replies "That's what I've been missin'" and "catches" the kiss. Jack appears as a ghost to a graduating teenage Danny to do this one last time at the end of the series. On seeing this I hurled myself out of the window, but unfortunately I was living on the ground floor at the time and survived.

than a lifetime of nothing special.

Steel Magnolias

I love the movie but I always thought this line was kind of cheesy.

hit by lightening? Same as everything else." -"Oscar Winner" Halle Berry in the one of the few groan inducing X-Men moments.

"You were the golden boy of 19....seven..ty....2. Your home town probably erected a bronze statue of you in the town square. Of course it's all green and rusted by now..." It looks Ok, but when Charlton Heston emotes the whole thing in Planet of the Apes, it's hilarious!

"Ah' Nova. Do you understand me? CAN...you understand me?" the Planet of the Apes...I can have fun with Heston all day!:D

"I'm coming down to help you, are you alright?" Generic actor speaking to generic actress hanging off a cliff by a tree root in one of the Godzilla movies.

Samaurai-"Hey! where are you going?"
Women hostages- "We have to go pee-pee."
Generic Hong Kong Karate flick.

16. Last night's Drawn Together razzed Dirty Dancing
It was a crappy episode for the most part (literally, ugh), but when the pig said "Nobody puts Baby in the corner!" I had to bust out laughing.

That entire movie is just so cheesetastic...I can't believe they had the nerve to make a sequel like 20 years later.

17. I disagree with "Ghost"
That's one of the most romantic movies ever and that line, imo, is classic.

That's my boyfriend and mine's favorite thing to say to each other.

I say "I love u" and he says "Ditto"!

Oh come on!!!
The Rock and Con Air are both deliberately OTT ridiculous action films that use cheesey lines to send themselves up. You might as well criticise Face Off for the same reason, and that's CLEARLY a pisstake.

Armageddon, on the other hand, is indeed horribly cheesey.

29. "I'll see you in hell"
how many times has that line been used? Has anyone ever delivered the line without it sounding cheesy? Granted, Gene Hackman had it as his last line in Unforgiven and he was great in it, but his previous line was better; "I don't deserve this, I was building a house".
