3. You have to watch a few episodes to really get.
I didn't like it the first time I watched it. Now, it's my favorite show.

10. kinda thought that Alec is playing Alec.
The couple of times I tried to watch I thought he's just being himself....only a little more over the top.....

12. A lot of the character is Alec, just as with his many SNL appearances
but, Baldwin does have acting chops if you go back through his considerable dramatic film bio. So, this comedic facet shows his range, if you ask me. Not that many dramatic actors can carry off comedy, much less tv comedy.

5. It's different from the expected sitcom formula...
much like I think Seinfeld was.

I'm a big fan, though it has seemed to slip a little in recent seasons.

9. Like Seinfeld and Arrested Development, 30 Rock doesn't rely on "likeable" characters
Most Sitcoms try to get the audience to identify with the characters, make them likeable, and then put them is funny "situations"

A few Sitcoms don't try to get the audience to like the characters, or maybe, as in All In The Family, present several likeable characters in opposition to an unlikeable main character.

Me, I like 30 Rock, Baldwin is a comic genius and Tina Fey is even better......

because 30 Rock and The Office are the 2 best shows on television-I actually Tivo them every week....I don't think I'd bothered recording anything on network TV since who knows when

19. 30 Rock, The Office, Mad Men, Friday Night Lights, Arrested Development
Curb Your Enthusiasm...

"They're hip! They're now! Watch to be considered cool, you vacuous lemmings!"

Oh. One may add Sex in the City, and the Sopranos to that mix.

Anything creative or different-- doesn't stand a chance in hell.

Proof? According to Jim...

22. I don't get it either, a kennedy
The most overated comedy on TV (House is most overated drama). Used to like Baldwin until that tape was released of him verbally abusing his daughter. Asshat. Yeah, I know the tape shouldn't have been released; an invasion of privacy. But now that I've heard it I can't forget it. Billy is now my favorite Baldwin. There are certain kinds of comedy that I just don't get. I had the same problem with Arrested Development (those AWFUL voice overs!). And Tina Fey. Sorry, but she is WAY overated. Anyone could have done a decent Sarah Palin. She's a parody of herself. I admit, I liked her in Mean Girls, but that's about it. Kristin Wiig is more talented. And that McBrayer kid.....he is aptly named because he looks like a donkey. UNFUNNY.

23. I've seen most episodes and find it hit or miss. When it's funny,
it can be the best show on TV, but when it falls over itself being the "I know we are good" stuff , it falls flat. Sometimes I think the supporting cast gets short-changed and left out of episodes too much. This year has been a bit of a letdown the way they have cycled in way too many guest stars. Who needs them?

24. I watched a few episodes "on demand" to see if it would grow on me.
It didn't. :eyes:

Like another poster here I have difficulty watching Alec Baldwin since that horrible abusive telephone call was released. Too bad, because I always liked him as an actor. And years ago as a side effect of taking ginkgo biloba I had a very memorable dream involving all the Baldwin brothers. Hoo-yah!

I think Alec Baldwin can be hilarious (Schwetty Balls, anyone?) but I tried to keep up with it when it debuted and just couldn't get into it.

26. I find Baldwin's character the best on the show.
The rest of the characters are pretty annoying. Especially Tracy Morgan, Tina Fey and that blonde chick.
