Ocean's 12 plot question (****SPOILER*****)
Ok, I loved Ocean's 11, and I enjoyed Ocean's 12 -- I always love a good caper movie.

However, two plot points in O-12 (along with some of the, well, technology which drives the plot) left my head spinning.

The plot problems:

- Why the hell did they put the little guy in the suitcase? Did they cut out a scene or change something with the way they get the egg off the train? That made no sense. At first I thought they snuck him out of the hotel because they were avoiding surveillance, but everyone else just walked out the front door.

- Why did they even try to steal the fake egg after they already won by stealing the real egg before it even arrived in Rome? They already won the bet.

1. I thought they
were also trying to avoid surveillance, but you're right, something may have been cut from the film.

And the whole point of trying to steal the fake egg even though they had the real one all along, was to continue to string the Frenchman along.

Another plot hole is that the detective girlfriend knew Rusty was a big-time thief all along and never turned him in.

There were lots of them.

For me, the biggest disappointment was that the first movie was truly an ensemble piece, and this one wasn't.

2. They were trying to avoid surveillance
by getting one of the guy's out that had already been made. Everyone else disappeared into the basketball team. That didn't have anything to do with the egg being stolen.

Isabel didn't turn him in because she figured he would lead her to a bigger case. I.E., whatever it was he was trying to steal while he was in town, plus, she thought he could lead her to Le Mark and/or the night fox. She told him the next time she saw him she was arresting him. And she did.

I thought it was totally an ensemble piece. It didn't play out like the first one, but the joy of this movie was still watching everyone interact with each other. I really enjoyed it, and I'm glad that I have friends that haven't seen it, so I can go see it again.

3. if they stopped with six days left, then Catherine Z-J would never...
...meet her father, whom they owe for the egg.

I don't know about the guy with the suitcase.
