1. That is awful to watch.
Back when it happened I had no idea it was so bad.

3. There is a lot about Michael Jackson...
...that I never fully understood.

He never really talked about how bad the burns were from the Pepsi commercial. We didn't
really hear anything from him. I never knew that his addiction to pain killers started back then.

Also, his skin condition that he had--which turned his skin blotchy. Many people did not believe
that he had a skin condition. Michael never really talked about it. He never really stood up
for himself. There were rumors that he was purposely turning himself white because he hated
being black. He never really spoke up and defended himself.

Seems like he did a lot of suffering in silence.

5. He seldom spoke up for himself.
He did address the vitiglio issue in the 1993 Oprah interview, however. He said he was proud to be a black man.

6. A lot of people didn't believe him, though,
If it was me being subjected to all that scrutiny, I woulda stripped off and shown everyone so they would STFU about this wanting to be white crap.

7. He was ashamed.

His father always told him he was ugly. He said he tried not to look in the mirror because he never liked what he saw. I think he was simply ashamed, and he came from a "show no weakness" family.

10. I agree.
There is so much I understand now and kind of hold my head down in silence.

2. Probably too much lacquer
If his head was that badly burned, this means he was wearing a hairpiece after that.

my students begged me to take them, which I did - with their parents' permission. It's hard to believe the accident happened on the 6th take. It seemed like it happened right away.

I had never seen it from the back before. He must have suffered terribly. Only remember him being whisked off and a voice over the intercom telling everyone to please exit the auditorium immediately.

11. My gosh. What a trooper. He and everyone else downplayed the incident
and he was the hardest working man in the business in spite of such an awful tragedy. I can't imagine myself leaving the house after that and not being bitter as hell. This shows MJ in an entirely new light and I truly hope he is in peace now. :( Pepsi pretty much destroyed MJ's life.
