to those who aren't gay or lesbian (and those who are) but have faught within their denominations for our rights. Several years ago I gave up on God. One too many of his representatives told me he didn't love me and I wound up believing it. From that day to a couple years ago the only times I set foot in churches were for weddings or concerts. I sang Ave Maria and Requium but didn't mean the words.
Thanks to people who faught the good fight after I gave it up, many of whom weren't lesbian or gay, I am now a Deacon in my church. For that I thank you dearly. You did what Jesus would have you to do. You did him proud.

per se, but I have refused to leave my church because of the sexuality of a Bishop in New Hampshire.
I don't understand sexuality very well, but I know that I am not called upon to understand it, nor am I called upon to judge it.
I have no idea how Jesus felt about homosexuality. As far as I can read, he didn't say much or anything. But I did read his commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind; and Love your neighbor as yourself.
Notice he didn't say "Love your straight neighbor as yourself." So if I left a church because there were gay people in the pews, I do believe I would be breaking that commandment.
