Call MSNBC to complain about their acceptance of religious bigotry
(201) 583-5000

I know a lot of you aren't going over to the General Discussion forum right now, so many may have missed this. Last night on Scarboro Country, Pat Robertson and the Catholic League Guy, and a couple of other shills were on spewing hate and bigotry. They were bitching that the media is "secular Jew run." Well, between this and the fact that NBC refused to air the UCC commercial - I have had it with NBC. I called and complained about both of these things. They are being flooded with complaints, so much so, they have set up a voice mail for the complaints. I told them I was now boycotting all NBC networks. Please call and voice your complaints to NBC. Here is the original thread in GD that explains much better what was said.

1. I know people like to bitch about Robertson and Falwell being on TV...
... but I say have them on as much as possible. They can only go so long before they drop one of their doozies on the mainstream airways and the country gets a taste of what they really elected into office.

3. They have dropped doozies, time and again.
When people notice and object, they drop out of sight for a while, then come back the same as before.

4. At another link I found this question and response...
<snip>
Question by anonymous asked on February 29, 2004, at 04:00 am.

Other than Jews and Gypsies what groups were persecuted in World War 2?

Answer - Nazi Germany persecuted:

Jews

Gypsies

Slavs

Elderly

Disabled

Mentally Impaired

Wounded German soldiers

Homosexuals

It seems that what DU viewers of the Scarborough show last night are describing is bigotry by the religious right approaching the intolerance and hatred exercised by Nazi Germany. It is like the religious bigots have been studying the Nazi methods and are now applying them.

7. Yeah....
and claiming that things were "Jew run" was one of the major things the Nazis said to get the population all fired up against Jews and others. This has got to stop.

8. Nazi Family Values
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 07:04 AM by doni_georgia
What we are seeing in America today has a scary parallel to 1930's Germany. When Hitler first rose to power, he did so under a banner of Nationalism and Family Values. He did not start by attacking Jews outright, but by saying he would return Germany to its glory days. Healthy lifestyles were compulsory. Abortion was banned, homosexuality and prostitution was outlawed, women were told to quit their jobs (with women out of the workforce there were more jobs for men - sound familiar?) and stay home and raise big Aryan families. Women who had more than four children and stayed home to raise them were awarded military-style medals for serving their country. Homeless people were no longer allowed to walk the streets - they were sent away to concentration camps. Other people deemed socially unfit by the state were also carted off to camps (Gypsies, migrants, etc). Mental hospitals were shut down and the patients of these hospitals were put to death (thus saving the German state millions). People with physical disabilities were also put to death. In 1935, the Nuremberg laws stripped Jews of their rights as German citizens, paving the way for what was to follow. Anyone who did not meet the Nazi standard of Family Values was an enemy of the state. But all that was to follow in what has become known as the Holocaust started under the banner of tradional family values.

Edited to add:

Now read this article by Sean Hannity and see if you see the parallel:

10. in Mein Kampf
Hitler writes quite a bit about the traditional idealized German person/family.

A bit like people today and their desire for the return to Father Knows Best on the one hand and a desire for a return to the 1929 (or something) economy and state of sexual repression.

12. Wow.
Thanks for laying it out like that. The parallels were already pretty clear, but that REALLY crystallizes it.

The Hannity article is incredibly ironic in how he compares the evil of Nazi Germany to liberals! I guess that's a form of immunization against recognizing it in his own words, huh?
