Anyone else spooked or intrigued by St. Malacy prophecy? |
|
This is the one about the popes, and that Benedict XVI would be next to last. It's been said this pope would be a Benedictine-don't know about that, but the name he chose gave me a strange feeling. You can check out more about St. Malacy and his prophesies here; http://www.catholic-pages.com/grabbag/malachy.asp

Yes, I do have a slight interest in it.
Let's see if Pope Benedict XVI can be "Gloria de Olividae".

7. It depends on how the Prophecy is interpreted |
|
According to St. Malachy the motto Gloria Olivae, the glory of the olive, was to be the motto of the next to the last Pope. But Pope Benedict has chosen the motto Pax(peace).
Also, the next to last Pope should have been from the Benedictine Order, Ratzinger isn't a member of that order. But picking the name Benedict might be considered fulfillment of the prophecy.
Let's look at two other events that have occured, first, a Turkish presidential candidate won overnight the northern Cyprus elections favoring reunification peace talks of the two sectors; the Cyprus flag has two interlocking olive branches in it. Secondly, the Italian Prime Minister has seriously been considering resigning amd holding early general elections succumbing to pressure from the leftist opposition called l"Ulivo.
Interesting isn't it?

Where did you find that the new Pope was a member of the Bendictine Order?
Just because he chose the name Benedict does not mean that he's amember of the Order.

I guess I didn't make it clear in my post. The prophecy says that the Pope would be a Benedictine. I don't know what order the Pope belongs to-I was just struck by the fact that he chose the name Benedict.

5. In an earlier thread I made the prophecy |
|
That when I asked myself to pick a number I would pick 3, and lo and behold, I asked myself to pick a number and I picked 3! Isn't that the most amazing thing ever?
So Ratzi picked the name the prophecy said he would pick. Doh! No brainer. Why are people getting the shorts in a knot over such complete nonsense as that?
And this coming from ME, the guy who prophesized about '3'. Don't forget that!

9. I've read up on this, Ayes. |
|
I've read that St. Malachy predicted that this next-to-the-last pope would be the "Gloria Olivae", or the "Glory of the Olive". I don't see anything referring to Ratzinger being connected to olives, like his family crest or maybe an Italian background. I'll have to do some more research.
"The Benedictine order traditionally said this Pope would come from their order". So the question is, does he? How is Ratzinger connected with this order? This should be a fairly easy to research.

Must be a whole lot of corrections or new liberation must be done in such a way that God allows the need ending the Church.

As far as I expect this prophecy should have all the validity as a Sylvia Brown prophecy.
