Ramadan was a good guess, and the dates migrate throughout the year, but this year it doesn't start until August 21st.
It might not be a religious proscription per se, but some other duties that conflict with that particular period. An example would be the Jehovah's Witness convention someone mentioned in the other thread.
Also, the realtor may not have been describing the situation accurately.

or participation in some religious classes. It's not necessarily related to a religious holiday or occasion celebrated throughout the religion. For example, they might be Catholics who have signed up for a six-week retreat at a monastery.
