For those of you who sing sacred music..... |
|
IMHO the greatest living church musician died last night. Richard Proulx composer, arranger and directtor died in Chicago, Illinois last night. Proulx born in St. Paul, Minnesota had studied organ with such greats as Gerald Bales and Peter Hallock and was school at the Royal School of Sacred Music in London, England. Directed in St. Paul, Minnesota, Tacoma, Seattle and Mercer Island, Washington and had been the Director of Music and Worship for Holy Names Cathedral in Chicago 1980-1994. His arrangements and compositions have appeared in hymnals of many different denominations.

I was in a boychoir in Tacoma, Washington with him and went on to sing all over the world because of him. What a great guy!

3. Do you know if he was related to Annie Proulx? |
|
I'm just curious, that doesn't seem to be a common last name.
