One of the world's most mysterious objects, the cloth said to have covered Jesus Christ at his burial, has gone on display for the first time in 10 years. * * * * A key visitor to the Shroud will be Pope Benedict XVI on May 2. Vatican officials have stressed the event will be ''spiritual'' and not ''religious tourism''. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Shroud-Of-Turin-Goes-On-Display-In-Cathedral-For-First-Time-In-10-Years-Pope-Benedict-To-Visit/Article/201004215598155?lid=ARTICLE_15598155_ShroudOfTurinGoesOnDisplayInCathedralForFirstTimeIn10Years.PopeBenedictToVisit&lpos=searchresultsIt may survive the Shroud alone, but it will not survive both the Shroud and the Pope simultaneously.

12. Some one who never posts has TexasProgressive |
|
I tried to change it when we were allowed to change our names but no and I'd rather be TexasProgresive with one "s" then not. BTW- no one has ever mentioned it until you.

I look forward to this convergence of events which will result in a massive R/T meltdown.

that religion gets into trouble when the traditions, objects, and the protection of that religion become more important than the message that they profess to believe in.

16. Is this really that big a deal? |
|
The shroud has long been known to be fake. Why are we still having this discussion? And the Pope isn't really that big a deal either. Unless it has to do with his improper handling of child rape, it's not really worth discussing, at this point.
