Dead-Beat gods
Don't you just hate it when a god creates more children than he can support then he runs off and leaves them for other to take care of.

Child support? Did you say child support? Haven't received a payment in 2000 years. And don't get me started on visitation! Two weekends a month and every other Christmas, is that too much to ask? The kids see his face once and a while on a grilled cheese sandwich or a tortilla, but he never comes around in person anymore. And on their birthday, you would think that the guy who lives where streets are paved with gold could spring for a Hallmark Card on their birthday, but No! Not a word. I guess that's just the way some gods are.

I am glad my god would never do such a thing, how about yours?

(OK, it is just a joke, don't get too excited.)

1. yep
and to paraphrase George Carlin,,,why does God always need money? it's bad enough that He bolted on his children,,but apparently has no visible means of support......
what is Heaven anyway? some kind of celestial trailer park, with a cheap TV tuned into Jerry Springer (that is assuming that the electric bill has been paid)

Just got "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?" It has a lot of old stuff, but it is still great.

2. God gives me
hope with every breath. When I least expect it, when my thoughts create a situation of hopelessness and despair, God comes with a wonderful surprise. And when I insist on keeping negative thought patterns alive, God sighs, and breaks the Karmic circle, and I realize that accidents sometimes happen for this purpose. As the wise ones say, the only sin is forgetting God-the only blessing is remembering. And this is done with each breath.

Salaam.
