I fear we will all be held accountable
for the great human failure on the Gulf Coast. I fear the pictures, but I can't turn away. I bear witness through my tears and ask why weren't all good people strong enough to staunch this great ebb of life in this most degraded fashion...

I'm taking refuge from GD here in this forum, because I think here I will find people who believe in the unity of life force and our eternal co dependence.

(thanks)

1. A mystic's take
I felt the impending disaster for about a week before the event;premonitions are nothing new for me. I also feel that this is not the end, but the start of a process of great change and cleansing of the earth-a process that, like any birthing, is painful.

I have wished blessings on all those folks now, especially the living, for I feel it is harder for them. For the dead, I wish blessings and release the That to which we all go.

The important thing now is to focus on healing and on peace, starting with your own heart. A difficult thing to accomplish, but one to which we can all strive with each breath. Then we can be ready to help those who need it the most; rest assured those we can help will be placed in our path.

2. Yes. I know what you are saying. I'm not sure my spirit will heal...

I feel dirty. Filthy. I feel as though I need to scrub my skin raw to get the stench and dirt off. I just don't know how to clean the inside of me. I can't clean it off on the inside. I don't know how. I am a spiritual being. I believe. It's not that I have no tools to guide me...I just feel so much shame and overbearing sorrow. I write this with a heavy heart. A broken heart. May God grant mercy on us.

Peace.

3.  I think we should have faith that our failures will be forgiven

and thus be inspired to do as much good as we can, even though we fall short of what we think we should be doing.

The compassion in this thread is a beautiful thing. I believe it has the power to heal, even if it is only one person, and just for a moment. It's inspiring.

Thank you all for letting your light shine.

4. I have nightmares centering around the Iraqi dead
Just a week ago, I had a vision of an Iraqi baby crying as it slowly immolated. It must of lasted for the whole night.

I honestly have no idea what I can do to help stop this madness; my inaction may very well condemn me as surely as the malevolence of Republicans and Vichy Democrats does them.
