Anyone had an unpleasant encounter with family members (or others) after they are deceased?
In another thread,, people posted about experiences they’ve had communicating with family members after death. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=214&topic_id=273016&mesg_id=273030

All those experiences were positive. Has anyone ever had an experience seeing, or communicating with, family members (or others) who are deceased, that wasn’t positive?

It seems like this would occur especially if you had a relationship with the other person that was unpleasant.

1. uncle-in-law was convinced his dead parents were maliciously haunting him
then again, that was probably due at least in part to his advanced alcoholism

2. Two words: ectoplasmic spanking.
Couldn't sit down for the rest of the damn day. Well, FUCK YOU, DAD! You NEVER had the right to hit me, and being dead doesn't let you off the hook! I'm a grownup now!

3. I had some unsettling ones

the hotel in Dresden (firebombed horribly at the end of WWII) and I hear (in my head) "Sagen Sie dieses!" In the context I took it to mean "say that the firebombing of Dresden was a horrible thing." It was very pointed, forceful, very German. The other entities that come through give me advice on cooking and jobs mostly so this was just a different energy altogether.

Btw, the firebombing of Dresden's non-military targets was a horrible thing (amid a war full of horrible things).

11. About 35 years ago, my father appeared to me in dream to tell me he had died
I found the dream encounter very unpleasant

Nevertheless, my father remains visible to everybody, and he continues to do dishes and yardwork for my mother. He called me around midnight on the solstice to remind me to watch the lunar eclipse. He turned 91 a few weeks ago

I don't know: maybe this isn't exactly what you had mind

12. Mervyn LeRoy once showed up in my bedroom shouting anti-semitic slurs at me.
Weird thing was, he was Jewish and I am not.

13. If you stumble upon them after they've been dead for a few days...
...especially during hot, humid weather without air conditioning, I understand that can be very unpleasant.

14. I doubt that would happen if a family member has successfully crossed over
If a family member has crossed to the Other Side, all there is is love. Even if the deceased was a complete asshole in this lifetime, s/he sheds all that once they pass over. And if the deceased had an antagonistic relationship with anyone still living, it becomes clear to him or her that that was all illusion (drama), so that also gets dropped and, again, all there is is love.

However, if the deceased has not successfully crossed over and is hanging around as a ghost, that person retains their personality traits and can cause trouble to those still living.
