Cleaner removes 'face of Jesus' from Wiltshire church
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-13726851

I wonder if it was a mistake by a nonseer (someone who didn't see the image of Jesus) or intentional (that would be pretty mean and maybe pretty risky if they're also a believer) ;)

2. How do they know it was that face of Jesus?
Just because it was in a church.

3. What is the earliest known picture of Jesus?
Or have all pictures been what others have thought he might look?

4. There are no existing contemporary images of Jesus.

None. Every last one is from someone's imagination, which seems appropriate enough...

Here's a fairly good rundown:

6. Excerpts from link:
... ""I was sitting in church .. a little bit bored by a sermon when I saw it ... You had to be in the right seat ... From the side it just looked like dripped wax. It was only when you looked at it face-on that you could see it ... The Church of England is not very good at this sort of thing and if I'd done something sooner it could have been a bit of a money spinner"

Slow news day: destroying a potential "money-spinner" at a Wiltshire church, an unknown person has removed four months of candle drippings that might have looked like a face if viewed from exactly the right seat by somebody bored by the sermons

7. For a split second, I read the word "cleaner" as a product, not a person
I'd love to see a commercial for Jesus remover.

"Are Jesus stains getting you down? Are you tired of one blessed apparition after another appearing on walls, floors, dishes, and furniture? Are you ready to scream if you turn around one more time to find the Holy Savior staring at you from the mildew on your shower door? What you need is Mess-i-off! It cleans the Messiah Mess away!"
