Look here it is America guarantees religous freedom to everyone. Seeing as how you all have no religion. You can't be expected to have all the freedoms all the people with religions have. You so foolishly think they were serious when they said all men were created equal and right to pursue happiness.
Face it in the end you're just jealous of their freedom. :sarcasm:

I can have the freedom to be unencumbered by anyone Else's notion of some large invisible sky boohoo who wants to run my life. It's always seemed to me that freedom of and freedom from are two inextricably linked manifestations of the original notion.Dead serious

purpose; specifically when arguing the establishment and free exercise clauses.

12. Separate church and state? |
|
What an idea! I wonder if anyone has thought about that before? Maybe they wrote a document that anchors governmental authority completely independent of any religious authority? Do you think such a wacky, wild document exists? ;-)

The absence of God is atheism, regardless of whether the secularist otherwise believes in God or not.

Secular is without consideration for a god. There is a difference.

17. Perhaps I didn't phrase this response well |
|
but I was projecting into the Fundie mindset. They believe secularism = atheism because of the lack of "consideration for a God," regardless of whether secularists believe in God on their own time, which many do.

9. Wish someone could address the ethics of their abuse of freedom. |
|
If they´re involved in politics they need to pay taxes. Is it right to expect "insert name of today´s group that religion hates" to pay taxes while religion lobbies against this group? Is that justice? They should be ashamed of this freeloader example that they are setting. We all know that they could easily afford to pay taxes and take the burden off of families.
Christianity says their God is a just god. Millions of Americans have this tax issue against religion. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said that they should go and resolve these issues with their fellow man before they worship at the alter. Anyone see these false prophets rushing to do the right thing?
And what about the haughty attitude of guys like Pat R, Falwell, Ralph Reed, Tom Delay, bu$h? Christianity tells its followers to be humble, not go on TV and judge cities that exercise their right to vote. This is a huge character flaw and yet they refuse to show contrition as Clinton did when he appologized for his so-called sin.
BTW, Pat Robertson was involved in a California oil refinery battle. He was actually on the right side of the battle trying to keep the refinery open so that Big Oil couldn´t manipulate supply. But that was in 2001, what happened since then. Does Pat receive money from Big Oil as hush money? In light of his comments about Hugo Chavez, his "godly" life seems to be a little self-serving.

The religious in America get to have the separation of church and state, but as an atheist I don't have a church to separate from the state. :(
Maybe we could have a state of our own?
