I see she has a new book out. I need to go sign up for it at the Library.

1. Just a suggestion...
You might have more success hooking up with people who share your beliefs in one of DU's several spirituality-themed groups:

The Astrology, Spirituality & Alternative Healing Group
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=245

The Ancient Wisdom and Pagan Spirituality Group
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=262

The Seekers On Unique Paths Group
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=292

This is not to say you aren't welcome here, just that this forum is open and many people avoid it so as not to have their beliefs questioned.

2. Thank you.
I don't mind having my beliefs questioned. There are probably no questions that I haven't already asked myself.

But I am posting now on one of the other boards.

I was just hoping I might find someone here who was familiar with Pema Chodron's writings. They are so wonderful.

4. I've read several of her books
They are very practical and the concepts have helped me a great deal. And I don't practice ANY religion.

5. I haven't read any yet i don't think
I've read quitea few other buddhist books though. I suggest Joesph Goldstein's " One Dharma" ...all I can say is wow what an insipring book that really gives a great background and begining understanding of how buddism's move to the West has transformed.

As to questioning a buddhist beliefs....that is done everyday through meditation and comptemplation. To spend a day waking in a sleeping world. Sure many people on DU feel that way anyway.
