A quick apology to this group.
It seems that a few posts of mine here have been moved here from GD. I tend to react strongly to a few political/religious discussions that get started there. Unfortunately; my threads responding to the originals seem to warrant being moved here; whereas the originals sometimes do not. I don't get that atm; but wanted to apologize if anyone here did not realize that I wasn't just jumping in this group looking for a fight. I do enjoy the discussion here; but felt maybe I needed to clear the air a bit. I will frequent this group more often; in the hopes of some lively discussions.

Peace!

1. No sweat.
Technically, this isn't a DU "group" anyway. It's a general admission forum. :)

3. I usually post to GD, myself...
Every once in a while one of my threads will be a little...controversial...in a philosophical sense, and it'll be dragged over here. I'm not a big fan of that practice, personally, since a lot of the people who know me hang out mostly in GD and I think it's grossly unfair that they might not get the chance to see the post simply because it makes someone a little itchy.

4. It's unfair to your fans, eh?
Forward my condolences to all of them. Maybe they'd appreciate it if you used the "DU Journal" function.

5. I do use the journal function...
And I'm not talking about "fans," per se. My "fans" can buy one of my novels. Those are "fans." People here on DU are compatriots, and comrades. Not fans, as such. And sometimes things slip away pretty quickly and I've noticed that people are more likely to dive into the GD listings than look through random journals or even seek out specific ones. And, like me, generally stick to one of the forums in particular. They may automatically click on one of my posts if they see my name on the latest or greatest page, or even while scanning the forums, but I don't think a lot of people make use of the journals that much yet.

8. Will you PM me the names of your novels?
I'm looking for summer reading.

6. See; that's
exaxtly my problem. I think we may need to adress this sometime. Something to think about.

7. I'm confused
I get R/T posts when I read the main discussion page. Is that a setting I have on or something?

9. Nope...we all get those...
But you know how the main page can be. Fast. Most of these sub-forums have regular posters and readers, and that's it. Except for the short period when they're up on the main page, I'd say there's very little chance that most DUers even look here. A lot of people go to the GD forum page and scroll through the listing there, since it is one of the main forums.

R/T is a little like the "Gungeon," in that posts here usually have very little time to reach anyone outside a small group.

It's not that big a deal, I suppose, but a little annoying nonetheless.
