The War on Yule
I offer this up partially in jest, but partially in earnest.

Most Christmas customs have their root in older, pagan observances: advent wreaths, yule logs, Christmas trees, mistletoe and holly, the sacredness of the fireplace. And yet many Christians (specifically the Talibangelicals) get all pissy when we assert our ancient right to a Festive Solstice or a Good Yule or, lacking even that much respect, the courtesy of a non-sectarian Happy Holidays.

Well, I say ENOUGH!

It is time for non-Christians to reassert their right to whatever winter holiday they wish! It is time for us to take sides in the war on Yule! It is time for us to proclaim: Keep the Sol in Solstice!

T-shirts from Cafe Press being designed now. :hi:

1. Good one!
I hope your explanation is sufficient for DUers to "get it" and play the game. We had a lot of fun with this subject last year!

4. We believe in CHOICE. You choose the holidays you want to observe
I'm self employed and don't get any 'paid holidays' from customers. I choose my own holidays.

My favorite holiday? My birthday! ;)

9. Blessed be
First they steal everything from the pagans, then they launch a war on Halloween, then they have a hissy if anybody acknowledges other holidays that occur in December. Screw the Fundies!
