The Giants had a 4-0 lead for the Other Barry but fell apart in the 6th inning when Prince Fielder blasted a 3-run jimmy-jack high into the right field stands. This was followed by Zito's ignoble exit. The next batter tied it with a solo shot. Thanks to Pablo "Panda" Sandoval's heroics (he had two homers and narrowly missed another), the Giants were able to take a 6-4 lead going into the bottom of the 9th. The Giants' closer, Brian Wilson, preceded to blow his fourth save of the year by allowing 3 runs to score, the winning hit a walk off double by Fielder.

Thus the series goes to the Brew Crew and the wild card is starting to slip away?

the wild card is slipping away with more than half of the season left to be played and the Giants 1/2 game back.

It was just one of those games that happen sometimes...I would have rather they had lost 11-0.

Things don't look good for tomorrow either with the Giants' starter making his ML debut.

Edit: Isn't Sandoval a great young player?... Currently hitting .340, with a tremendous future.

It was Mexican Heritage night or something (btw, the Giants do a whole week every season celebrating the heritage of different ethnic groups; don't say I never said anything nice about the Giants). All the nativists and anti-immigrant yahoos must have been in an uproar.
