3. They do get turned on... |
|
by phony machismo...that's for sure!
I know a hetero wingnut guy who is just crazy over Arnold. Well, he acts hetero anyway.
They do get pumped over fake "manliness". That is why war gets their bumper stickers and blood flowing so much and also why they worship a wrathful and vengeful God.
These are sick bastards who have no love in their hearts.

Believe me. I'm a long time Cardinal fan and followed their every move for years. Spent many years in St. Louis and many nights at Busch Stadium. McG was as pompous and unresponsive to fans as it gets. It was great when the black boy who caught McG's record breaking homer refused to give it back saying McG never did nothing for me. Eventually a bargain was struck, but McG was an arrogant bastard throughout. Now he is such "The American". Actually he does represent what America is, all juiced up on chemical cocktails.

St. Louis was very good to him, and I didn't see him reciprocate at all.
On edit: Wait a minute, he *cried* at the hearings?

6. Only a true Cardinal's fan understands Big Mac |
|
I find him to be an easy read.
He did start a foundation to deal with abused children. For that, fans need to congratulate him.
He does get very emotional. Remember he used to hit the ball where most guys need binoculars just to see them. Two of the dingers he hit during his historic 70 dinger season did not even count. One was in LA where it hit a fan in the torso and the ump said it hit the rail. Another was in Milwaukee where he hit such a scorcher it was in and out of the empty bleacher section in the blink of an eye. So he really hit 72 that year.
He cried when he said he wanted to retire a Cardinal.
He said when you sign a contract you have to live up to it, not ask for a pay raise in the meantime. However, he tore up his contract his last season because he could not play the game at the level he thought he should. This saved the Cardinals several million dollars. He re-energized the St. Louis fan base and now they have a much higher payroll largely in part because MM brought the fans out.
He and Sosa brought life to a dying sport.
Mac was already investigated for taking a nutritional supplement which was totally legal at the time.
Mac gave a lot of his money to his charity. De Witt, Bush's buddy, and owner of the Cardinals, does he give to charity? Do owners give proportionately to charity as well?
He is an emotional man. His pride is strong. I respect him!

According to my roommate who was on the baseball team. I didn't know him. Met him a couple of times. He came to our apartment once on a Sunday night, and was among several baseball players who ripped me for wanting to watch 60 Minutes.
