Hill will start tonight for 49ers

Coach Mike Singletary said yesterday that Shaun Hill will start at QB in their exhibition opener against the Broncos with Alex Smith to get some work with the starters, 5th round draft pick Nate Davis should also see some time.

Singletary also said about his choice "don't read anything into it" but I suspect the plan, as of now, is to have Hill start the regular season for the NFC West contenders in their season opener Sept. 13th in Arizona.

Hill's 7-3 as a starter. He continues that this year and the 49ers will contend.

6. He did well. Actually, all the QBs had a good night against Denver.

Except for those three picks, the defense looked ineffective.

I haven't heard anything since last week.

That he might sign right before game one of the regular season..Kinda got lost in a bunch of other NFL news I think..:)

5. They need him.

He can step in right away and help a lot. A lot of draft picks can't do that, but Crabtree has the potential to be a factor right away. And as I like the 49ers, I wouldn't mind seeing them do well.

7. The team of Brodie, Montana and Young has no one in camp besides Shaun Hill and Alex Smith?!

It promises to be another loooooooong year by the Bay (I arrive late on Sept. 1...)
