Alabama's football team can breathe a sigh of relief this morning with word that senior defensive end Brandon Deaderick is in "good" condition after surviving an armed robbery attempt and shooting.

Deaderick was hospitalized Monday night after being shot in a robbery attempt in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Rice Mine Road in Tuscaloosa, police at the scene confirmed to the Press-Register. Deaderick was reportedly wounded in the arm and taken to the emergency area at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa for treatment around 10:30 p.m.

Hospital spokesperson Brad Fisher confirmed after midnight that Deaderick was being treated at the hospital and was in "good" condition. Fisher said Deaderick was admitted for the night into a regular room not in intensive care. He is expected to be released today.

Glad that he is okay. I hope that he heals and can get back to school and football. Lucky this wasn't worse.
