1. Does that explain why...
Upton has been so quiet the last few days?

And yes, Congratulations to the Rockies.

7. You bitter Pirates fans
LOL

I kinda slowed up following the Mets once NHL preseason started. It just got to the point I was in a really bad mood watching the games and felt bad for my wife having to put up with my 1/2 hour temper tantrums afterwards. I've sat through some really shitty years as a Mets fan but this one took the cake.

Can't wait for Sat!!!!!!

5. That's what I thought too
Edited on Wed Sep-30-09 11:18 PM by JonLP24
Yesterday after the Rockies pulled out a win in 11 innings the baseball people on ESPN was saying the Rock Show's magic number is 3 which would make tonight's win 2.

12. I was misled, sorry
I thought Jack Rabbit was sure of what he was saying but I understand the error. Rockies I think need just 1 or 2 wins.

6. Both my teams have made it simultaneously in two out of the last 3 years
Of course, it doesn't help that the Red Sox have made it to the playoffs stumbling backwards through a plate glass window onto a pile of nails and cherry bombs, but maybe something will light a fire under them right before the first playoff series. If I were Anaheim I'd be salivating for some likely revenge right now the way the Sox have been playing the last week and a half.

The Rox, on the other hand, are doing that thing where they win all the games they have to. Good job, Colorado.

10. Well, let's see . . .
The Rockies have 90 wins and the Giants have 73 losses (per ESPN).

Now 90 + 73 = 163. That means the Rockies are in, doesn't it?

Ooops. I just noticed the Atalnta Braves have a shot at tying the Rockies, provided the Braves win all their remaining games and the Rockies lose all theirs.

My Bad. Perhaps we can do this again tomorrow night.

13. The Rox must win today,
because it is very conceivable that the Braves will sweep the Nats and the Dodgers will sweep the Rockies. This is not a good scenario. The magic number is one.

But then again, the Rox could win out and win the division.
