Browns Trade Edwards to Jets(Browns get Stuckey, Trusnik, 2 draft picks)

The Cleveland Browns reportedly have traded wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets.

According to the NFL's Web site, the Jets traded wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik and two draft choices to the Browns for Edwards, a former first-round draft pick.

The deal comes with the Browns winless and Edwards being investigated by the league for possible disciplinary action under the NFL's personal conduct policy. A man accused Edwards of assaulting him outside a Cleveland nightclub early Monday. The man is a friend of Cleveland Cavaliers basketball standout LeBron James and said that Edwards started an argument because of his jealousy over James's success. James reportedly called Edwards's actions "childish."

There was speculation during the offseason that Edwards might be traded, perhaps to the New York Giants.

Trading two decent players for a guy who is under investigation. Real smart.

Watch the league give him a rest-of-the-season suspension as soon as the trade is finalized.

4. Edwards hasn't had any charges pressed on him.... yet

Even then the suspension(which won't be all season - based on what is alleged and similar suspensions were not all season ones) will wait after the end of the verdict, plea, whatever which would probably be 5-7 months from now.

the NFL has a personal conduct policy, and can issue sanctions for violating that policy.

Which is why Merriman and Tom Cable(still a chance for Tom - but they're waiting for that to play out) was never suspended.
