The Sonics are playing incredible ball |
|
And they're clearly better than my beloved Spurs right now.
Damn that was a whuppin' they put on us tonight. Props to all the Sonics fans in the house.

1. I sure didn't expect to win one in your building. |

Duncan was just magnificent tonight. What's the story with Brent Barry? I see he only logged 6 minutes tonight. Is he having trouble fitting in? He was always one of my favorite players when he was here in Seattle. Great guy.
Looking forward to round 3. It seems like the Sonics are the only team that can give San Antonio a game right now.
I sure love the Spurs' mix though, I'm sure they'll end up top seed.

2. Yeah, Timmy was something |

But nobody else showed up. Rasho took a powder.
I have no idea what's going on with Barry. He normally gets about 15-20 minutes a game. His shooting touch has been off, too.
Remember, Pop's got an incredibly intricate system in place. One reason we're having such a great start is we've brought back most of the team instead of adding starters. Barry will be fine by the break.
We also appear to be the front-runners in the Karl Malone Sweepstakes.
I think we'll end up top seed, as well. We'll just have to hope Seattle draws the other bracket. :hi:

We had him here, and he is so-o-o inconsistent. Would have thought Flip Saunders coulda taught him better, but then look at Wally Szczerbiak (I am certain I misspelled that). Wally can't defend his way out of a paper bag.

4. Rasho's been doing quite well, actually |
|
He just disappeared last night. Very weird.
I think he's just not aggressive enough, which is why Pop went with Malik in the second half.
Rumour has it we're getting Malone after the holidays. That'll add some aggressiveness to the front line.

And I'm sure TMac will score 13 points in 30 seconds a lot more often in the future.
On any given day, any team can beat any other team. The key is winning four out of seven come the playoffs.
After all, the Spurs shot over 80% in the first half of the Cleveland game Saturday, and scored 69 points in the half. Do I expect them to do that all the time? Heck, I don't expect them to do that again ever.
But crazy things can happen. That's why it's an 82 game schedule. By the end, the good teams will be in the playoffs.
