but my kid is totally obsessed and I often quote your comments to him.
I saw Wells the other night on the mound and just totally cracked up.
He is just so much the "anti sports hero. " He's a total slob so I totally adore him.
The last sports hero I admired was Jim McMahon 'cause he wore a headband that read "Pluto" during the last phase of Super Bowl in the early 80's.
Whoops I'm dating myself. I obviously don't know dukey about sports. I gave a running commentary for the most recent super bowl for a friend who didn't have a TV, that was comprised of comments like, " Oh no, now they're all over the ground again." and "Now they're running around again."
My kid was completely mortified.
It was really funny.

6. I was there and you could smell it. |

They should have opened the dome up. And as someone else in this thread pointed out, it got really stinky when the relievers came on.I'm not complaining though, since I'm a Jays fan. Halladay was having a bad day, so we needed some help from the Bosox pitching staff to pull out a win.

7. Doesn't he fit right in?.. |
|
(not in the poop category) ..all the reports are saying how he's a natural in the Red Sox clubhouse. Big mouth. Looks like a slob. The biggest problem with him at this point is I think he won't own up to his own limitations. There was at least one important game during the last time he pitched for the home team at the Baseball Cathedral in the Bronx when he failed to tell anyone that his back was in spasms. He was blown out in 2 innings I think. For the life of me, I don't know why the Red Sox signed him. He ain't the second coming of Roger Clemens.

13. Thanks..I couldn't remember which it was.. |

Mel might have coshed Cashman with a bat if they re-signed Wells.
I still can't get over the appearance of his unknown wife at the Twins-Yankee series..same year I think. The camera guy showed this woman, and one of the commentators said 'that's David Well's wife'. A beat later, the other guy said, sounded very surprised: "he's married??"

9. I wasn't happy with Wells' signing... |
|
and, sadly, my worries have been confirmed. I know with only two starts under his belt, so to speak, it's a little early but he's been really bad.
I wonder how long before some part of his body gives out. Hey Dave, how about a salad once in a while?

10. Here's The Worst Part About Wells For You Sox Fans |
|
He's horrible at Fenway. I expected him to do well on the road, but struggle at home. He hasn't even pitched at the place he wanted to blow up.

12. Oh, don't you know?.. |
|
I could be wrong, but I think he has a no-work-out policy, or at least not one as regimented as other pitchers do.
But he is available to joust with forks at late-night diners...
