You know what the ultimate irony would be
if neither the sox or yankees made the playoffs, and the o's and the jays made it. Yes, I live in fantasy land. Way I look it everyone needs to take a beating sometime. Anyhow, I am content for a 500 season and third place here in Baltimore but if we got in the playoffs that would be also be good, no, no that would be great, who am I kiddin. Yes, I dream a lot.

1. Dude, 4.20 is next Wed.....
...just kidding.

I think the O's will win 85 to 90 this year. Ponson is awesome.

3. I hope we see the Sidney that was traded to the Giants mid season
two years ago and the one of the second half last year. Have Rodrigo doing good would help as well, same with Danny Carbera, and have Erik Bedard prove that he was not worth trading for Hudson, and have Chen do ok, we could have a nice little team this year.

2. You sir
are a true fan. That'd be something I would LOVE to see. I get tired of the same overpaid teams going constantly. There are so many teams that receive no recognition at all. I truly think something needs to be done about the balance of power in sports. Browbeating the same teams year after year is NOT entertaining.

4. I know
I made predictions in the baseball group and it seems to be the same ole, same ole mostly. Ahh I am a fan but I am also greedy, to put things in perspective, the orioles were last in the playoffs when I played and was good at baseball and basketball, and last made the series when my parents were newly weds.

5. As a fellow Baltimorean, I think that would be fantastic.
I would settle for the O's being directly responsible for knocking the Yankees out of the playoffs. That would be great.

10. It would be but I would rather be in first place looking down
on the AL East, god '97 seemed to be such a good year. I am not from Baltimore btw, I live in Northern Va, and am still loyal to the O's despite the Nationals who I like but I still love the Orioles.

28. I did too, we lost all those games by one run
I Remember Cal's home run against Charles Nagy, that was too cool. We're in a minor pickle right now, bases loaded, two out and matsui up against ryan, up by one.

6. sorry
became a Yankee fan when i was 7, been one ever since, even in the eighties when they were at the BOTTOM of the AL east. Blue Jays and A's did win world series, same with the Twins - do you still hate the 49ers? What about the Dodgers, they dominated for so long - give me a frwakin break.

8. Give you a break? ok you won more world series in the 90's
Edited on Fri Apr-15-05 05:59 PM by JohnKleeb
than we won division titles,. I just would like to see my team in the playoffs rather than yours, is that really a problem?. I didnt say anything about the blue jays winning the series btw, and I didnt even mention the Oakland A's. Ahh the Dodgers, I dont like them too much and I also didnt mention them, same with the Twins. No, I don't hate the 49ers, I am a Steelers fan, I could care less. BTW kudos to you for still going for your team even when they arent good, Ive been doing that most of my life with the orioles, it aint fun.

9. The Jays and Orioles have been playing the creampuffs...
at the beginning of the season, like Oakland and Tampa Bay. The Yanks and Sox have been beating the snot out of each other. The cream (as always) will rise to the top.
But hey, you GOTTA have a dream! ;)

11. Uhhh we played the Yankees and took two of three
from them. Oakland isnt a bad team btw, they lost some of their best starters yes, but this is a team that starts out slow then shocks you midseason.

12. Watch out for those Jays
And your team hits the crap out of the ball.

Don't know what's gonna happen, but at the very least, the division is MUCH more competitive this year, which is the way it should be. Neither the Sox nor the Yanks will be as strong as they were last year (Yanks have holes in the line-up and a suspect bullpen, Sox have taken a step back with their starting pitching). Meantime, the O's and Jays look much improved. Should be a hot summer...

14. Yes
We should be able to take better care of the Sox than we did last year when we actually beat them in the season series, but I think they're more easier to beat now. I also think we could play evenly with the Yanks, the series in New York proved that to me last weekend.

13. It'd be ironic, but the ultimate irony
would be if then the O'Jays reunited to sign the national anthem. That'd be like an irony explosion.

20. I wouldn't call it ironic.
But it would be good for baseball, and I do think the Jays have a shot at displacing one of 'em.

Never mind. Not nearly as satisfying. :)

Wells didn't suck tonight, tho. That's a plus. Ortiz hit a grand slam.

Thanks for beating the Yanks.

25. Dreaming is a good thing
I would love to see a playoff series that was sans Spankees, I do not have the venom for the Red Sox that I do for the Yankees. In the National league, I would love to see the playoffs be without Atlanta and San Francisco.

A playoff series sans Yankees. Oh how it would be nice really, yeah I feel the same way about Atlanta though the Giants dont piss me off.
