After reading the SI piece, you can't help but admire what this guy has had to deal with for the last 11 years. The dude is one tough SOB. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/andy_staples/12/26/meyer.health/index.html?eref=sihp

1. It's all fun and games until someone gets an arachnoid cyst. |

Joking aside, I know someone with this same condition and it's not a fun thing. The pain can come out of nowhere and reduce a person to rubble in moments. My friend said to imagine the worst migraine you've ever had and multiply it by 10. I've had enough migraines to know that anything worse is pretty much unimaginable.
Best of luck to him, and I'm glad he saw that sports is indeed just a game.
Unless we're talking about the Boston Bruins...

2. Read that piece a coupla weeks ago and remember thinking.... |

...this isn't normal. Something deeper here. Then the hospitalization for dehydration after the Bame game. I can't help but fear that it's a little more serious than a cyst. Here's hoping it's not.
