3. Could have been worse the shortest game ever was played in 1926

Between St Louis and the New York Yankees they played a full 9 innings and it lasted 55 minutes. BTW on the other end of the spectrum the longest game ever played was Chicago vs Milwaukee it went 25 innings and lasted 8 hours 6 mins and was played in 1984

No pitching changes. Only seven hits total. All three M's hits by Ichiro, who scored their only run. Both Sox runs came quick on homers. And there you go.

that's entertainment! Runs at a premium, pitchers with their best stuff, reinforcing the idea that good piching beats good hitting, ALMOST every time....:)

This was brought up on the Score sports radio here in Chicago this morning. The quick games back in the od days were not televised and the time between half innings was something like a minute. These days every game is televised with a mandatory 2.6 minute break. That is an extra 25.5 minutes of commercials.
