Forum,
Do you think that Hoosier nation regrets getting rid of bobby Knight? He is an asshole but his teams were always competitive and they played great basketball.
I think many regret it. I also think he was set up. He didn't realize he was on double secret probation.
I never thought I would see Indiana basketball this bad.

He was fun to hate, great coach, & a complete bastard. What a great rivalry we had then.

He just thought they didn't have the balls to can him.
Living in Indiana since 2003, I'm confident in saying Hoosier basketball fans as a whole never favored dumping Knight. Every credible small-town barber shop still needs two autographed photos on the wall, Larry Bird and Knight, and while he was still coaching I even heard longtime Hoosier fans declare that they'd given up on them to follow Texas Tech hoops.
At the same time, I do think Crean has a shot at turning this thing around. He projects the image Hoosier fans are looking for, he just doesn't have the talent or the W's. But I think he'll get a fair shot; people are willing to get the program clean first, then start worrying about wins more.
