Cavs trade for Wizard's Antawn Jamison
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers have agreed in principle to a 3-team trade with the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers that brings forward Antawn Jamison to Cleveland, sources said Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers are sending Zydrunas Ilgauskas to the Wizards and this year's first-round draft pick to the Clippers as part of the trade. The Cavaliers are expected to receive Clippers point guard Sebastian Telfair as part of the package.

The Washington Post first reported the trade.

The Cavs made the move after they were unable to complete a trade with the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudemire. After nearly a week of talks the Cavs pushed for an answer Wednesday afternoon. Either they were told no or told to wait by Phoenix, who was hoping for better deals to mature.

So they moved on to Jamison, who has been one of their top trade targets since the fall.

Jamison, who is averaging 20.8 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Wizards, is the good-shooting power forward the Cavs have been looking for since last summer. He has two years and $28 million left on his contract, which prompted the Wizards to look to move him as part of a rebuilding process

That means Amare is likely staying in Phoenix. :woohoo:

my team was gone a couple weeks after the world series, took me a couple years to get back into rooting for them.

8. No its been far longer than two weeks.
From the moment that idiot Gilbert Arenas brought guns to the locker room was the beginning of the end. Can't say I'm sorry either. I'm glad Abe's not around to see this.

6. I Don't Know About That
Seems to me that the more skill players they bring in to solidify the team, the more likely LeBron stays.

And Jamison is a nifty, smart and versatile guy who does truly make the Cavs even better.

7. LeBron isn't leaving.

Max contract, family all resides here, greater chance for a title here and now rather than starting all over with unproven college kids, offense-only coaches and suspect overpaid vets . .. and this is 2010, where media technology means you no longer need to BE in a major market for major stardom.

Sorry to disappoint the Big Market Entitlement Machine, but he's not leaving. He's just not. I know all of you look at Cleveland as this dying shithole cowtown, and I know you'd rather see the earth crash and burn than see Cleveland win a title in anything, but tough crapola. The ball bounced Cleveland's way, Cleveland has him and they're for once and finally ready to put 46 consecutive years of sports misery behind them.

I don't get it. I would think it'd be BAD for sports to see the same teams win year . . . after year . . . after year . . . after year. Unless you live there, what's the point of watching?

Let the dream DIE already, Adrian W./ESPN fans. This ain't Major League Basebusiness, where 24 teams serve as Yankee/Red Sox/Dodger/Chicago farm clubs.

9. Nice rant... Nothing personal against Cleveland,

but he's leaving. Think whatever you want, but he's gone. He's going where the biggest money is. Not the contract money, the endorsement money. I'd like to see him stay in Cleveland, but Lebron Inc. is moving to a bigger market.
