1. Super Bowl XIII, January 21, 1979
Pittsburgh 35, Dallas 31

Orange Bowl
Miami, Florida

Best back and forth game I can remember. Plus the Stillers won!

18. XIII - the Battle for the 70's
Considering the great players involved, not to mention the coaches, and how evenly matched it was and was played, this game to me is the best ever.

3. Super Bowl XXII Redskins 42 Broncos 10
Hilarious. Denver up 10 after 1st quarter. Redskins reel of 35 2nd quarter points behind Doug Williams (only African American to win the big one and the first to start) and one game wonder Timmy Smith who still holds the record for most yards rushed in a superbowl.

4. 1998 definitely.
Might have been the best football game ever. The ridiculously overhyped Packers get it thrown in their face by ultra-determined Elway. Great game and Romonowski's comments after were classic.

5. One slight correction.
Scott Norwood actually made the field goal against the Giants in 1991 and the Bills won 22-20.

At least that's how it goes in my head. The other way is just too painful.

6. The 1991 Bowl-I'm a Giants fan
The whole playoffs for the G-Men that year was incredible, especially beating the hated 9ers in the NFC title game.

8. I have both the Super Bowl and NFC game on tape--recently re-watched
both--hell, no point in watching the Giants this year!

Anyway, I'm watching, and even thought I know the outcome, I had goosebumps the entire time!

Loved the end of the NFC Championship Game. The crowd was going crazy, then Matt makes the kick, and the entire staidum goes deadly quiet, like the noise dropped off a cliff or something!

14. Not a Giants or Buffalo fan....
...but, I think that game changed the way football is played. It was really an important game for the history of football.

Man, my gut still turns at the thought of that game. We had so many chances. Oh well.

7. Being a Rams fan...
...I'd say Supe XXXIV's the best!! :)

I mean, what a team that year - 40 years in the football wilderness (remember, we had the football Cardinals in St. Louis for 28 years and never even got close, despite some really decent teams in the mid-70s - the Cardiac Cardinal era) and we finally got a shot at the big one!

Piece of trivia: The Rams title was only the second time a St. Louis team other than the baseball Cardinals had taken a championship. The other one was the 1957-58 Hawks when they beat the Celtics in the NBA Finals that year.

15. Hey Bears fan....
...Love your picture. My appreciation of Sweetness predates the Bears teams of the mid 80's. I remember when he was the only thing they had in the late 70's, and for those who didn't see him then, they really missed something. He used to give my team fits, but even Vikings fans respected him then.

Ultimate Underdogs, 1st AFC team to win Super Bowl, along with 1969 Miricle Mets, gave hope to the little guy against the establishment back in the sixties.

21. actually the Colts were the first AFC team to
win a Super Bowl in 1970. The Jets were in the AFL in '68. :) I know that's picky, but an interesting bit of trivia.

17. 2000 Super Bowl
that tackle was one of the greatest plays in sports history. It was for all the marbles, and he made it happen. That's like a photo finish in the Daytona 500.
