The Royals beat your Cards in the 85 Series and you still blame one call in one game, I'd guess. The Chiefs haven't won a ring in an even longer time. I'm still a Chiefs fan, not a Rams fan. You want to go with a winner? Why not go whole evil and jump on a Red Sox or Yankees bandwagon? Or vote Republican? Sorry about the rant, but I've taken this kind of crap for years.
edit to add the 85 Series.

8. Royals have serious talent... |

If Hernandez can find his 2002-03 form (which he should soon) he, Greinke, and Bautista could within a few years become a Big Three comparable to the top three pitchers in any rotation. And don't count out Gobble coming back either.
Teahen could be the real deal -- I've seen him play in Omaha and he reminds me a lot of Cal Ripken.
I just wish that things could be figured out with Affeldt -- he has NASTY stuff, but he's gone from starter to long reliever to starter to setup man to closer and now it appears back to setup man. If he can figure out how to stay healthy and can be used in a consistent spot, he could really shine. Burgos has looked solid, and combine a healthy MacDougal with Affeldt coming back and the emergence of Sisco, and the back end of the bullpen looks DAMN GOOD. Step two is getting ahead late in a game to utilize it...
Just wish they'd call Guiel back up. He puts the bat on the ball as well as anyone, and if they don't call him up by June 1st, he's leaving (he told me this himself).

9. I'd much rather have Gueil in KC |

than paying Terrence Long $5 mil. I just have no idea what we were thinking. Save that money to lock up Grienke etc in a few years.

I think the Royals just accepted Long to get rid of Darrell May -- nothing more than a swap of large undesired contracts.
