If you could have/try any job in Sports, what would it be? |
|
Owner? Player? Scout? Manager? Coach? Agent? Administrator? Broadcaster? Other?
First choice would be to own an NFL Franchise.
Second choice would be a MLB baseball radio announcer. Any team -- doesn't matter.

First choice is player.
Second is GM--someone who chooses what players to keep or let go.

2. I have always wanted to be a radio/TV announcer |
|
I went to school for broadcasting and I thought I would one day find myself calling a game or 2. I work at a TV station now, so I'm sending feelers out to the Sports guys. Maybe, you never know!!

I mean when I choose player, I didn't mean as I am now.
I may not be too old but I'm definitely not strong enough or skilled enough to play. :D

9. I mostly played goalie, some defense, never offense. |
|
I was a good passer, but I couldn't score to save my life. My inner goalie made me shoot easy ones at them or something. :)

Essentially all the benefits of being with the team, without any of the pressure. I'd like to be a player, but I don't have the size or skill, I don't have the knowledge to be a coach, manager, agent or scout, or the voice to be a broadcaster, but I think I could swing bullpen catcher.

or something that connects with fans.
Another thing would to do the music. I love a couple of things, the old cornball traditional stuff (OF COURSE!) but I also like when they play popular music that fits the situation. For example: once I was up in Canada, after we invaded Iraq, watching a hockey game between the Wings and the Canucks, and the first song they played at a break was "American Idiot". Very funny commentary. And the Wings' guy does a great job. Once they put Ricci into the penalty box during a Wings' game and they DJ (Tunes by T), played "....and the sign said, long-haired freaky people, need not apply..."

choose baseball, hands down. They make tons of money and it is guaranteed. I think I would like to be a pitcher and play every fifth game for tons of money.

20. If I were an owner it would mean I was big-time rich. |
|
So that is very appealing. I'll have to go with star forward for an NHL cup winning franchise. For me, that would be the ultimate in sports fantasy.

24. Director of Player Personnel for an NBA franchise. |

Football's a complex game and baseball's an art form. Assembling championship-level teams in either sport involves quite a lot. In basketball, there are only five positions to fill, and some players can play in more than one position (for example, Kevin Garnett has been used as a power forward and as a center by the Celtics). Finding that right combination of talent between starters and bench, between stars and role-players, that sounds like the kind of challenge I'd really enjoy.
