Jennifer Capriati in hospital after suspected drug overdose.
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/28062010/58/capriati-hospitalised-overdose.html

Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati has reportedly been rushed to hospital after a suspected drug overdose. Paramedics were called to attend to the 34-year-old at a hotel in Riviera Beach, Florida from where they took her to hospital, according to entertainment website tmz.com.

The website reported Capriati's father Stefano as saying his daughter was recovering well.

The New York-born player is a former world number one, who won three Grand Slam titles in her career.

1. Ugh....poor baby.
Yeah, yeah, I know. She's 34. But in my mind's eye I only see her as that 14 yr old with all that potential. It sucks when you decide drugs is the way to go. And it's real hard to get off the ride. I'm still surprised I made it off. I hope she figures it out.

2. When she was 13 she made it to the final of her first pro tournament...
...I think a lot of people view her the way you do, when you see someone grow up in the limelight, you always think of them as that little kid.

3. that sucks. she had a series of shoulder surgeries
and tried to come back (again), but it seems like she never managed to get over the hump. She wanted to come back and I have no doubt that her inability to get past those surgeries contributed to her return to drugs.

I wish her well.
