Roll Tide
Yeah, my Tide whipped them pretty good, but they moved the ball well for most of the game. Turnovers and lack of defense killed Penn State.

And Alabama did it without their two best players. The young defense is gelling nicely, if we can just stop the slant passes. Good red zone defense.

And that fumble play was crazy.

1. that play was pretty amusing
It looked to me like it should have been 'Bama's ball. The refs seemed to favor the Nittany Lions, but that's okay. Was that play recorded as an 80+ yard loss for Penn State? Wild, wild stuff. :)

2. I believe it was recorded as an 82 yard loss
and the Penn State punt some plays later was downed at the Alabama 24 yard line, 9 yards behind the scrimmage line at the Alabama 16 that the pass play resulting in the fumble/return/fumble/recovery that started it all started from.
Or something like that, according to the paper.
I missed the game, so I'll have to catch the replay if there is one.

3. I don't think it can be recorded as an 82-yard Penn State loss because
possession changed from Penn State to Alabama with the fumble. At least that's the way it would have been recorded when I played high school ball back in the 1960s.

4. it wasn't a loss
because Penn State took over with a first and ten.

5. OK. Local paper lied to me. Again.
About a number of things over the years, actually.
I'll have to catch the replay if I can.

7. Agreed, turnovers especially
wasn't two of those ints. red zone?

Lack of experience on the qb's part. He is a freshman afterall.

Good test though for Penn State. Saw some really good things for later this year going into next.
