Here is how and what they will need to happen.
Week 15 Washington defeats SF, 'Skins are 5-9 Carolina loses to Atlanta goes to 6-8 Minnesota defeats Detroit, Detroit goes to 5-9 Arizona defeats St Louis, Arizona goes up 5-9, STL goes to 6-8 Pittsburgh defeats NY Giants, NY goes to 5-9 Philadelphia defeats Dallas, Dallas goes to 5-9 Houston defeats Chicago, Chicago goes to 5-9 New Orleans defeats Tampa Bay to go up 6-8, Tampa drops to 5-9
Week 16 Atlanta defeats New Orleans, NO is 6-9 Winner of Chicago vs Detroit goes up to 6-9, loser is 5-10(Say Detroit wins) Cincy defeats New York Giants, they go to 5-10 Arizona defeats Seattle to go up 6-9 Washington defeats Dallas to go up 6-9, Dallas is 5-10 Tampa Bay defeats Carolina, TB goes up 6-9, the defending champs go to 6-9 Philadelhpia defeats STL, Rams go to 6-9
Week 17 Tennessee defeats Detroit, Detroit finishes 6-10 New Orleans defeats Carolina to go up 7-9, Carolina finishes 6-10. Green Bay defeats Chicago, Chicago finishes 5-11 Washington defeats Minnesota to finish 7-9 NY Jets defeat STL, Rams finish 6-10 Arizona defeats Tampa Bay, they are 7-9, Tampa is 6-10 Doesn't matter who wins between (5-10)Dallas and (5-10)NY Giants
on edit-Let me show you how it breaks down Final WC Spot Washington 7-9 NFC 7-5 Arizona 7-9 NFC 6-6 (Head-to-head tiebreaker over New Orleans) New Orleans 7-9 NFC 5-7
In this scenario New Orleans, Washington, Arizona are tied for the final spot at 7-9, Washington would get it because of a better Conference record. If Washington loses 1 game to either SF or Minnesota Arizona would get in for head-to-head advantage over New Orleans. So The 4-9 Teams in the NFC ARE STILL IN IT.
