2. I was wondering if Washington or Arizona was actually officially still in
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 06:51 AM by Champ
Their records are 4-9, the team occupying wild card sports are (7-6) and (6-7) I don't think all the 5-8 teams will lose less then 2 games but if Arizona or Washington wins 3 in a row that gives them a record of 7-9, the team with the last WC spot has 6 wins. I don't think it is possible for both 6-7 teams to lose the rest of their games and none of the 5-8 wins win 2 or more games. Hopefully things will be clearer after Week 15.

4. Arizona and Washington are still officially IN IT
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 08:07 AM by Champ
Here is how and what they will need to happen.

Week 15
Washington defeats SF, 'Skins are 5-9
Carolina loses to Atlanta goes to 6-8
Minnesota defeats Detroit, Detroit goes to 5-9
Arizona defeats St Louis, Arizona goes up 5-9, STL goes to 6-8
Pittsburgh defeats NY Giants, NY goes to 5-9
Philadelphia defeats Dallas, Dallas goes to 5-9
Houston defeats Chicago, Chicago goes to 5-9
New Orleans defeats Tampa Bay to go up 6-8, Tampa drops to 5-9

Week 16
Atlanta defeats New Orleans, NO is 6-9
Winner of Chicago vs Detroit goes up to 6-9, loser is 5-10(Say Detroit wins)
Cincy defeats New York Giants, they go to 5-10
Arizona defeats Seattle to go up 6-9
Washington defeats Dallas to go up 6-9, Dallas is 5-10
Tampa Bay defeats Carolina, TB goes up 6-9, the defending champs go to 6-9
Philadelhpia defeats STL, Rams go to 6-9

Week 17
Tennessee defeats Detroit, Detroit finishes 6-10
New Orleans defeats Carolina to go up 7-9, Carolina finishes 6-10.
Green Bay defeats Chicago, Chicago finishes 5-11
Washington defeats Minnesota to finish 7-9
NY Jets defeat STL, Rams finish 6-10
Arizona defeats Tampa Bay, they are 7-9, Tampa is 6-10
Doesn't matter who wins between (5-10)Dallas and (5-10)NY Giants

on edit-Let me show you how it breaks down
Final WC Spot
Washington 7-9 NFC 7-5
Arizona 7-9 NFC 6-6 (Head-to-head tiebreaker over New Orleans)
New Orleans 7-9 NFC 5-7

In this scenario New Orleans, Washington, Arizona are tied for the final spot at 7-9, Washington would get it because of a better Conference record. If Washington loses 1 game to either SF or Minnesota Arizona would get in for head-to-head advantage over New Orleans. So The 4-9 Teams in the NFC ARE STILL IN IT.

5. remember FOX's ad campaign last year
"All the best stories are in the NFC!" they said. It was the first time either of the Sunday afternoon NFL broadcast partners had tried to pull the "our conference is better than yours" angle.

Damn, they sure got burned on that one.

9. Nope. That isn't gonna work now.
That curse got transferred to the NY Giants when they took Sheli.

10. Nope. The curse is still in effect.
Doesn't matter if Eli was traded or not. The Qualcomm Stadium is permanently cursed and just need a special curse to the Chargers to make it work.

11. The Buffalo-Cinci game might be the best of the weekend
If Cincinnati had a defense they might have beaten the Pats last week.

And full props to Buffalo for even being in the race at this point.
