Cutler...
I don't want to second guess him, but we might as well get it out of the way. He didn't do himself any favors by standing up for the rest of the game. If your knee is hurt, sit the fuck down...

2. The Guy Got Sacked 120 Times In The Last 2 Seasons
He got back up and stayed in every game. The whole idea that this guy isn't tough enough is laughable.

The Bears have a team culture that pretty much says when the med staff says you can't go, the disucssion is over. No amount of "but i want to play" will change Smith's mind.

The game wasn't out of hand, his poor QB rating wasn't that much lower than Rodgers, and he has proven he doesn't "take himself out" of games.

This is just silly.

4. I think the criticism is unfair.
Only a small amount of knee pain is enough to take you out of a football game. You can still stand or walk, but running is out of the question.

6. Right.
Running, plus planting his foot to throw.

I am convinced that if he stayed in, and they still lost, the sore-losers would be blaming him for refusing to step aside.

7. My son strongly
disagrees with me. He points out how many players stay in the game, despite what a doctor says. He notes that Yuri Foreman refused to quit while in the ring with Miguel Cotto last summer; he had a far worse injury, plus had Cotto stalking him. And, finally, he reminded me of when his brother and he were kids, and I would pull out a film of Willis Reed hobbling out of the locker room, and going onto the court, and my saying this set the standard.

I guess people can view it two ways!

5. He's only ever missed one game, and that was because the docs wouldn't let him play.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

8. Update - torn MCL.
That should quiet the doubters.

10. I was telling my brother yesterday when Haney came in...

Either the doctors will need to find a torn ACL and/or MCL, or the Bears have to get rid of Cutler (either that or get the pictures from Brady's 2008 MRI to show the press as Cutlers injury :tinfoilhat:). If Cutler had a bruise or even a sprain I don't think he can come back into the locker room next year and lead the team. In the end, a healthy Cutler wasn't going to win that game for the Bears, let alone a banged up one.

9. The way he was moping on the bench, I thought he had been benched
for being ineffective. If it was an injury, why wasn't it taped up, why wasn't he icing it? Why did he just sit on the bench instead of trying to cheer on his teammates or give advice to Mr. Haney?

13. I am a diehard Packer fan. I did not know until listening to ESPN radio
this morning that Cutler is also a diabetic. Does he have horrible body language? Yes. Should we be ragging on him? I can't think that anymore...although I confess that I did when it first came down.

15. My guess is...
They gave him a shot at halftime and the leg went numb. Once that happens you have to pull him out...no telling how much damage you can get if you can't feel it.
